Does Kathmandu have DSL or Broadband? Or just dial up modem? How fast or slow is the internet connection there, more so what is the best internet connection one can get. Second, how about cellphone. Can you get internet access on cellphone in Nepal? Do you have to buy a monthy plan, or can you just switch teh sim card, and buy a card to use there?

as far as i know there is no dsl and no broadband. spacetime was planning to bring in cable but as far as i know the plan was halted because spacetime network was under scrutiny by the government for some illegal stuffs. well about getting connected to the net with the cellphone you have to ask the officials at NTC(Nepal telecommunication center). even if you have a cell phone and want to connect to the net you might wanna think twice about it or may be even thrice. cuz the cellphone isn't that cheap.. they charge you 4 bucks straight for every 3 min.. so i don't think you would wanna end up getting a bill of 4000- 6000 NRS a month.. well you can just buy a sim card from NTC> and you are hooked up with their service.. and as about the dial up connection in nepal.. it isn't the best. if you really need to get connected try NTC. or else every other connection sux. you get disconnected every once in a while.
