I had to speak out after reading the news in today kantipuronline.com about "Move afoot to extend retirement age to 60 years". The news says that some NGO organized a press conference to press for the extension. Does this not say a lot about who runs the NGOs and how they misuse these organizations?

I remember that around 3 years ago the government made the decision to reduce the retirement age inspite of the fact that the Official retirement age when they were enrolled was 60. Well... fine. Government justified its decision saying that there were lots of unemployed youth in the country.

Has the situation of Nepal changed for the better now? Are there any less unemployed youths in our country? The answer is a subtle "no". I say a subtle no because truely I am tired of worrying about the future of Nepal and can no longer shout out.

A decision should always be carefully thought out. You don't just change the rules just as it suits you. You don't run the country on your "Whim". Democracy does not mean the elected rulers are above the law.
