your love for music..
would it be wise enough to start a thread concerning music? your personal favourites ur likes, your dislikes and what you consider a decent musical joint? ranging from nepali folk to pop to the christian related rock in U.S and for that matter pop? do u think it's demoralizing enough to see all these pop sensations emerge out from nowhere? do u even consider that music? rapping to a beat doesn't make u A mc does it?
or is it to each his own? as far as it goes for me ..i prefer zepplin' ,sinch, boxcar racers ,blink 182 ..is this to pre-mature?
what are your thoughts ..??DO U APPRECIATE REAL MUSIC OR DO U JUST LAUGH ALONG? ASK YOURSELF?

ALTERNATIVES ROCK!
They say Alternate is dead but you see new Alternate bands popping everywhere (eg System of Dawn, Incubus, Puddle of Mud, COLDPLAY) . Even those new POP bands are coming up with Alternative accent.
Any fellow alternates?

I love to listen Hindi music. Especially Gazals by Jagjit shing. His gazals always contain very good poetry. Nevertheless good poetry is not only one factor to creat a good song, it makes song everlasting. I do like Chitra Shing...I hope one day she will start to sing again. Some songs of Narayan Gopal are also meaningful.

system of a down is that what u said ??isn't that more of a hardcore band? or has a new band name system of a dawn evolved ? u never know coz they are popping out like never before!
anyways i also do happen to admire sysofdawn,puddle of mud, hoobastank, linkin park ,311 and then ..yeah p.o.d

Dude,
U're right, System of Dawn is more hard rock stuff..but you can put them on Alternative category too. U see, some music awards put No Doubt in rock, some in pop and some even in HipHop(well because of her recent gig, "Hey baby"). But any ways, point is Sys of Dawn rocks.
But the new Alternative band I like is Coldplay, from U.K. Have you heard it? UK sure has produced good alternative bands like Blurr, Oasis etc. Download 'Yellow', 'Parachute' from Coldplay if you haven't heard it Login mitra. U'll love it. It does smell like 'tin' spirit.

There is no music like nepali music.. i just learned that after listening to all those heavy metals to rap to r&b blah blah!!
And you search for nepali songs, you can't even find it. Not in kazaa, not in live wire, not in any p2p servers.

Naresh, Jagjit sing is good but he is too monotonous.
My personal fav?? " face to face" album. there is no jagjit album like that album. I go crazy for that song

I share similar sentiments ;) kyarnu, bro, now po feel like i am a nepali
aaba hiphop, rap crap and punk rock( whatever that means) roomies le bajauda bajauda afu ta wakka!!..well, ali ali classic rock sunincha, but nothing like nepali music, i agree :)
btw, people, i happened to visit KTMROCKS a few months ago, and I was shocked to see the kind of music they are promoting, even more horrendous, the lyrics, of nihilism, sex and drugs?? instead, me and firefly bro got the spitfire...what do u guys think? ali pachaunai garho k........i also heard, these days in nepal, one out of three teenager is a musician? wow, ktm must be rocking indeed...with bombs :( and death metal music? :(

few months back, i told my frens in kathmandu that i am really sick of listenin' to everything from rock to rap and classic and classic rock and what not. So i told them to send me a hit nepali pop song or something that is really popular. They did send me but they didn't know those songs in that album could have given their friend a space in "aryaghat ko kinar". the album was the collection of "HIT" nepali rock songs- musicspin or something, i forgot. The songs were sooo heavy-metal-but-off-tune, that even if ROB ZOMBIE had listened to those songs, he would ask for a glass of water. just imagine what would happen to our poor narayan gopal? ... he would die again. And the funniest thing, they had "rastriya" heavy meatal song.... song on birendras death...

I love Nepali songs, specially "Adhunik" ones...u know the old ones(Deep Shrestha, Om bikram and all) and few new ones like Bobin Pradhan and Nepathya.
But I hope you understand that Music has no boundaries and should be admired accordingly. I hate Hip Hop, Soul and R&B but hey, people have right to like it.
Hope u agree.

i think i've come to a point that i've stopped condemning any other kinda music(rap, R& B , soul(what's that?) let it flow hard if people admire that kind of music ..what do u call that maturity ?
i like some nepali stuff as well ,more or less rock , like robin and looza .i guess that's pretty much it.btw oyster what's up? u didn't tell us what u liked? did u?

I like all sorts of songs
Nepali, Hindi, English and all thoses languages if i could understand them well..Even I don't understand Spanish I do admire Latino Music, But for Hip Hop.... like My pal says sometimes they are Audio version of some kinda porn......

I love nepali music.. i listen to oldies like narayan gopal, naati kaaji, aruna devi, . i even listen to nepali rock and pop bands like 1974 AD, O Kiely, Cobweb, Kalind, Madhyanha, The Buds, Robin 'n Looza.. Has anyone every heard of the band Flower Generation. IT's a nepali band but they sing only English songs. Their first album What is? was cool. And did you guys know that there is a hip hop nepali group called The Rappaz Union.. but they suck big time. .they are all dhaani bau ko bigreka chora haru.. they think they are really cool.. and i heard they live around like the rappers over here..
I do listen to English music too.. Actually I started listening to NEpali music only after I came here.While i was in Nepal. .I was always listening to Green day, Blink 182, Nirvana, Scorpions, Eagles, The Doors, Creed..... Puddle of Mud, POd, system of a down, are also cool... hey how many ppl in here think Avril Lavigne's hot.. I would give up everything to get her ..

There is nothing better than the nepali music, at least for me :) I listen from Adhunik to pop to rock nepali songs. 1974 AD rocks, The other areNepathya, babin Pradhan, deep shrestha, Om Bikram Bista, and my good fren Bimal Bhattachan.

Avril Lavigne is surely promising. I think her small posture and regular girl like presence adds to her popularity.
But they should have given VMA (Mtv Video Music Award) best new artist to a band: Coldplay . Then again, does the VMA award hold any importance, except for the show?

THe VMA is more like a comedy show in the field of music.. HEy DWI> cold play has been in the scene for quite sometime. you know that don't ya. but avril lavignez brand new. and she is hot. and she is coool. and she is a bit crazy that is what makes her sexy.. Avril lavigne rocks

U're right fRank, that's why she got the award.
How 'bout Nelly Furtado and Michelle blank? I don't know if they were nominated. But yeah, I still would have given the award to the 17 year old Avril. "Complicated" was better than "I am like a bird" or "U're everywhere".

you know what Avril lavigne's Complicated is hardcore.. aight. and the music video is damn cool. and the lyrics itself rocks.. now you cannot compare nelly and michelle with avril... nelly and michelle might be cool but they are bit conservative. that is how i feel , but avril. .she is the hardcore beauty.. and i was checking something about avril lavigne when someone nearly cracked my computer last night
