Is Gbnc going to post the balance sheet this year or what ?
Cause we as members would like to see the expense account as well..
Specially the details on the 1974ad show and Santosh's account.
We also want to know and see who all got free meals and free ticket at the different events of GBNC. What amount was spent to host 1974 ad in the city of boston ?
Since we all paid our good money to see them we also want make sure that the left over $$$ is not being pocketed by anyone. Just like GBNC likes to nag its members when it comes to taking money from them I would like to nag GBNC crew and its leader when it comes to showing the HISAAB KITAB to the penny.

To the current President,
Been hearing a lot of discrepencies on who deserved what and when ?
Would appreciate if GBNC could provide the info esp the balance sheet as to where the association stands financially. We(as members) do not want to be kept in the dark especially when it comes to $$$ matters.

thank you

why do you smell some corruption in GBNC?
I hope noone needs a rumal to cover..?

As a public organization GBNC should make it's financial state open to the public. If you look as sebsonline website you can see that even an organization in Nepal keeps their accounting public.

An organization like GBNC that organizes programs such as 1974 AD concert and other parties, deals with thousands of dollars that could get corrupted or lost if the finances is not brought out to the public. I think the people of Boston should know how much money GBNC has. How much profit was made from the recent concert, the recent Baisakhi sanjh.

I also have unconfirmed information that the fund allocated for Sandesh Wagle's family after all the active campaign, has not been handed over to his family. I would appreciate if someone from the council can confirm or deny this. If this is true this casts a very dark shadow over the goodwill if any that GBNC has gained throuout it's existence.

helo GNBC!
Is anyone even there ? Why is Gbnc quiet ? I know there was some $$ misplaced by the previous President. Hope that it does not repest itself. Its about that time for hand over the torch and hope it goes smooth specially in the financial matters.

Greetings,

We understand your concerns over GBNC finances not being made public yet, and we ourselves wish that we could have done a better job about it. The primary problem has been the un-stability at the position of Treasurer at GBNC. Ashish Shrestha, the original Treasurer had to leave the position for personal reasons and Yaleena Shrestha, who took over the position after Ashish, has been unbelievably busy with her newly acquired business. So, much of the responsibility had been taken over by the vice president, who as you might know has also had to leave Boston for Nepal. So, I have assumed the responsibility for now and will do so until the end of the current council members’ term in office. As I am sure you can understand, all this flux at the position has made things difficult.

I am currently in the process of preparing a balance sheet and doing things like collecting accounts receivables. We will then forward the balance sheet and the balances to next year’s council members and/or post it on this website for everyone to view.

As for 1974AD/Deep Shrestha Concert, here are the details of finances of the event:

Total Revenues Collected: $4,725.00
Expenses
Hall Rental $600.00
Entertainment License $40.00
Refreshments (artists and clients) $202.96
Ticketing $24.55
Audio Equipment Rental $1,100.00
Total Expenses $1,967.51
Amount for 1974AD/D. Shrestha $2,307.76
Amount Raised for GBNC $449.73 ______________________________________________________

As for funds raised for Sandesh, please view the posting I had posted earlier: http://www.gbnc.org/sajha/html/newsdetail.cfm?itemid=476

Sincerely,

Bik Yonjan

whats waht Posted on 29-Aug-02 02:55 PM

So I am assuming GBNC has close to about $1000 balance ?

Why wasn't the whole $$ given to Sandesh's family ? Donation came solely for that purporse in aide of Sandesh, I think its lil inappropriate for GBNC taking a cut. But if thats what the contributers wanted then its a different thing. If you want emergency fund then raise $$ for that sole purpose, please do not collect it under the deceased's name.

How many people attended vs. how much $$ we raised ? I know there was a counter at the door who was counting ? Cause we also need to clarify that. I heard that the ones to dear and near the president got in for free while the rest of us paid. who shed the $$$ for the paarties for the Band ?
Sandesh's Friend Posted on 29-Aug-02 04:06 PM

Although the GBNC president points to some old postings where he had said so much amount has been "ALLOCATED" to the deceased family, I have been told that the money has not been handed to the family yet.

GBNC President, can you make a statement that GBNC has now handed out the money to the deceased family, that you had stated was "ALLOCATED" in your previous posting.

I have been the deceased friend when he was alive. And I do not feel it right if the money was NOT handed out to the family. This fact can be checked out if it needs to be.

Dear Sandesh's Friend,

GBNC has handed the money to Sandesh'es family. This was done in person by our VP Batsal Devkota.

Could the presidents silence is interpreted as guilty by suspicion ?
or does he not have the data we are requesting ?
president Posted on 30-Aug-02 11:05 AM

Dear "whats waht"?

I am making the details of the 1974AD/D. Shrestha ticketing available here. This does not mean that I will make all the details available for all the events all the time. We all have limited time and resources and at some point, have to make a compromise between how much time we spend on answering questions such as yours vs. actually working to make things happen. How you interpret this action of ours is up to you. I hope most of the community members do appreciate that we have to make such compromises in order to make things happen.

Here is the detail of the event:

TOTAL TICKETS USED: 194
FREE TICKETS TO BAND HOSTS: 9
NO OF TICKETS SOLD: 185
NO OF VOLUNTEERS WITH FREE ENTRANCE: 8

Dear What's what,

I personally handed over the money GBNC owed to Sandesh's family.

About not giving all the amount to Sandesh's family, most of the contributors after finding that the amount collected was excess to the total cost involved, requested the GBNC council to keep the money for future use. However, we decided to give at least 60% to Sandesh's family.

Please email me if you still have any queries.

Ok are we going to see the Balance sheet before the president passes the torch or what ? We do not want to hear from the next president that the last president gol Maald the hisaab kitaab. According to rough calculations ther should be approximately $1000 in GBNC account. Half from 1974ad and half from Sandesh account. If I am not mistaken.
arnico Posted on 12-Sep-02 02:03 PM

As far as I understand, of the funds collected for Sandesh, the amount kept behind for GBNC did NOT go into general GBNC party-sponsoring funds, but into the Emergency Fund that was established some time back to give GBNC the means to quickly step in and help out if a member of the community is in serious trouble, without first having to beg for money...
mahaina Posted on 13-Sep-02 03:01 PM

hellooo,
GBNC is really quick when collecting $$$$ from its members..We expect the same diligence in their hisaab kitaab too. Now where is that balance sheet again ?
