Guys,do u have any idea how long does it take for labor department to provide the labor certificate?My company has applied for green card for me ,they published the advertisement in the news paper and nobody applied.1 month waiting period is also over.Now can u tell me how long it takes to get the labor certificate and then to get the work permit for my spouse?And any idea to get the green card itself.just the rough idea!

LC can take upto 2 years. You the file for I-140 and I-485 or do counsellar processing. That could be 6 months to 1 year. You can only et the work permit at the time of filing I-485 See http://www.immihelp.com - its a good site. There is also immigrationportal.com where you can ask specific immigration questions and get good replies. Hope that helps.

LC can be quick if you did the fast track process. normal process can take upto a year. then again, it all depends on your industry. now, 140 and 485 can be filed together, which probably means that your spouse can get the work permit sooner. contacting your lawyer regarding your case is the always a good idea.
