Dukh ki khushboo si lagi udney,
ek dard sa utha hai dil main,
is jism se jaan lagi hai nikalney,
aisa kya kaha hai tumney.

jisay kuch bhi to mila nahi
magar dard say lab hila nahi
wo jo duniya say thi munfrid
jisay na kisi say tha gila
usay sab say zyada dard tha
usay sab say hi to gham mila
par lab zara bhi hila nahi
wo jo gham tha dafn us kay seenay mein
wo tou gham kisi ko dikha nahi
sab daikhtay wo be-jaan si hai
sab souchtay usay gham nahi
kise kya pata kise kya khabar
ye diye ki lo madham nahi
wo thi janti wo thi manti
yahan zindagi mout se kam nahi

us ka badn dard say tha toot ta
sab jante wo masoom hai
magar koun tha jo na loot ta
us ki aankh mein kuch nami se thi
us kay lehjay mein kuch kami si thi
aur dil tha yun dharkha hua
jaisay aandhiyan kuch thami si thein
zara daikhiye zara poochiye
wo zara bhi gham say thaki nahi
wohi lab pay ik hasi si hai
par jo cheikh hai wo suni nahi
