Hi... This is just a preliminary exploration about whether there is sufficient interest in having a Boston area sajha visitors' get-together at some Boston or Cambridge restaurant... perhaps around September 17-18-19 ish? ... for regular writers, including anonymous writers (no, you don't have to tell us your usernames) and silent readers as well as anyone else who feels like part of the sajha community and happens to be in the greater Boston area. San, is there any day when you could make it? The get-together would of course be incomplete without your presence... Arnico.

Suna, come on up to Boston! ... for people not in Boston: this is not meant to exclude you. However, as sajha.com is based in Boston and a sizeable proportion of its participants are in the Boston area it makes sense to have a get-together. Perhaps one day there should be get-togethers in DC, Tokyo, Kathmandu as well...

And, we had plenty to talk about, no Suna?;) We even got to taste San's c culinary expertise!! Sajha, You are unbelievably good to us! Arnico, it would be an honor to to be near your calm and cool presence. :)

I am nowhere close to Boston. But this is wonderful. The online and offline worlds meeting together. Where the sky touches the horizon. All the best to you folks. Have a nice time. And report at the site. What happened? What was it like? :-) I hope the idea is replicated elsewhere.

Well, in last summer holidays, we also had very small gathering @ my place among Sajha.com surfers .... Don't ask number of participants. We discussed the prominent characters, and when I explained to the friend that who is Paschim, my investigation, using Bayesian Approach, the information in Google, information in Sajha.com. I confined the possibility of candidates into two. i.e. two Nepalis worked in World bank, both from Same school. Sajha.com 's additional info. was Paschim from Gorkha .... still there was a difficult situation to reject other candidate. Well, I used the word Paschim's claim one day in Sajha.com that he was also in SLC top 10,.... Bayesian approach of rejecting data that has no intersection was successful in confining the result to a single person.... hehehe ... I told to our Sajha.com surfers unofficial gathering in Japan, that Paschim is Mr. .... He was indeed happy. Because we were all the time hungry for who is Paschim... Great peoples can not be secret, they have to emerge because they carry entropy and they are the one who deliver good things and increase our entropy .... So, our informal Sajha.com gathering was indeed great. I wish similar successes in understanding the peoples, as Paschim wrote to Ashu, Internet discussion has 30% efficiency, of information dissemination , but, I guess the incomplete 70% should be achieved by face to face gathering. I wish you will achieve that. Hey, don't waste your time on discussing this guy: jack of all master of none, HahooGuru!. Discuss on some stuffs that were not clear in Sajha.com discussion board, let us know the out come. Manche ko jaat je nagar bhanyo tyahi garcha, (Bayesian Approach says, you give more constraints, you give more information i.e. by saying don't talk on HG, some will talk on it exclusively). Have fun. HG

Deep, mero tabedar. (by the way what is tabedar?), I never knew you lived in Boston! Yes, we had thought of having a sajha gathering in my house but did not think it was appropriate to make an announcement. God knows who would be showing up , you know :) like KOKO. haha. (koko could not help it. narisau hai?) But yes, it would be fun to meet. Czar is suggesting we meet in the afternoon. Do you think it is appropriate to drink in the middle of the day? I think I need a drink or two just to be face to face with all these sajhaites.

Sounds like a weekend would be better for people... How about Sunday the 15th? Or is that too soon? (it's not perfect for me, but I could manage...) I assume that we will never find a day that everyone can make... but let's explore a time that generally works. Also, what makes more sense, lunch or dinner? Any suggestion for a good place without needing to bother NK too much? How about some Indian restaurant that has a good inexpensive buffet lunch and that is condusive to sitting for several hours? Hahoo-ji, OF COURSE we will talk about you. Why else do you think we are meeting :-)

I prefer nice car, A/C is the must, with car CD player... so that i can play some of my favourite "classical nepali taanpura baadan" thru the trip. By the way, I prefer "she" driver. I need to stop at service station every hour -- so just make sure you have enough money in your syaano purse to spend on me. Don't worry about Boston, coz I am sure "KO KO" from sajha sure gonna have free beer and free lunch, dinner and break fast for us. We can stay at NK's house. (PLUS: Make sure your car seat is FOLDING like Night bus in Nepalo that i can take a nap thru the trip-- make sure to tint your car--75%) Let me know.

BOSTON GET TOGETHER: before proceeding with plans for Sunday, we need to check whether San can make it. A sajha gathering without San is like___ without ___ (fill in the blanks...). So, San, would lunch on Sunday work for you? How about everyone else? Any good restaurant suggestion? I would recommend something along the red line, somewhere between Davis and Kendall... I think that makes it accessible to students riding the T and to people who park at Alewife... DC Gathering: Suna, any chance that visitors from Boston would be welcome? Haven't been to DC in ages...

Saturday does not work for me. I am on a fieldtrip all day. However if you guys would like to meet without me that is fine. My hope was to meet on Sunday around noon and chat into the afternoon. I think buffet lunches tend to be good value for the money and allow sitting for a long time (good for having people coming late or leaving early). Indian restaurants seem to have well priced buffets. Yeah, Shalimar is fine. A little dark inside during the day, but not bad. Personally I'd be fine with any place. Would someone like to take charge of choosing a place? (I have not been to the Tibetan restaurant in Davis Square... any more info about it? does it have a buffet lunch?) Arnico.
