It's disappointing, sad and pathetic to see Nepal's reporter for AP (who is also a journalist at the Kathmandu Post) lifting words and paragraphs verbatim out of other people's works WITHOUT proper attribution. Kudos to Diwas Khati for alerting us all to this. Whether we like it or not, writing is act of public trust. No one is expected to be deep, brilliant, funny, witty and original ALL THE TIME when writing in public. And the readers are usually forgiving of lapses in grammar, temper, facts and figures. But when the very sense of public trust is violated, then something about that writer dies permanently. It's up to Binaj and The Kathmandu Post ko editors to deal with this in such a way that public trust is violated no more. oohi ashu
