Greetings Friends and Global citizens ...
Sept. 16, 2002 @ 07:50 am in Kathmandu

The purpose of this message is to say a very sincere thank you to
First Secretary Mainali and Mr. Mohan Adhikari for their
visits to Bangkwang and Klong Prem Prisons, on August 26, 2002.

The prisoners were surprised and delighted to have this visit.
They were even more pleased when they were told that every
eligible prisoner, applying for the King's Pardon, will be given a
supporting letter and the Transit Guarantee Endorsement from The Royal
Nepal Embassy.

This is a great step toward obtaining a Pardon from the King of
Thailand.

Mr. Mainali recommended that everyone re-apply for the pardon..
We expect that the complete application will cost about Bt.2500 .

That is about USD $60, and a huge expense for men with little or
no income. We will be working with the embassy and local people to bring

down these costs.

Several men have submitted pardons within the last few years.
They did NOT have the support of the Embassy..
These may have to be canceled ... and that causes other problems.

On behalf of the 40 prisoners in Bangkok, we say,
THANKS VERY MUCH..
