Degradation of privacy issues are one of the main concerns facing the free world today. But putting iron-gates and high brick walls will only limit our creativity and productive spirit and will hamper growth in the long run. While gross mis-use of company resources for personal use should be discouraged stymying people's access to the world of information is not good in the long run. "I don't think companies should be entitled to view e-mail that's marked private to an employee, without their permission or consent," Mr. Murphy argued, likening it to a letter received at the office marked as confidential. I like this topic. Bosses are NOT allowed to read your emails and you can be rich if your boss is actually reading them. (unless ofcourse your boss is a data security manager). On the other hand, company (authorized folks) SHOULD be allowed to content scan the emails used at work. It does NOT belong to YOU. Maybe that needs to be communicated clearly. If I was a CEO, I woudn't want my company be liable coz of some dumba.ss using 'objectionable' content/materials on my jurisdiction? A lotta weird ppl waiting out there for moments like that to get rich. You wanna test me? ;) I can use some money alright. Therefore, privacy at work is an oxymoron.
