I just read that among the UML activists abducted by Maoists in Dhading was the manager of something called the Small Farmers' Project. I don't know if he was abducted for being in UML or for working for small farmers ... does anyone else?

I also read a while back that the BASE office had been bombed.

Does anyone know what the Small Farmers Project is, and what happened with the BASE bombing? Also, was the Radio Nepal newsreader who was abducted ever released? Did CPJ and human rights groups protest about that? Are human rights groups and KTM intellectuals protesting when people who are in the field to help others are targeted?

I am SO sick of killing and terror. There's an old Yoko Ono recording from about 1970, that's nothing but her shrieking "WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY" for about 10 minutes. That's what I feel like when I read that crap.

Oh and btw, has government help ever gotten to people who have been killed accidentally by troops? Note to both sides: "Winning the hearts and minds" means you've gotta admit when you've made a mistake and try to set it right as best you can and treat people with respect and humanity.

Even a child knows that's how you show you're the good guys. By BEING good.
