"Look now Shinnok. For your own soldiers betray you as they run. You r finished!" The mighty thunder god stood triumphantly upon the burned earth. Hundreds of hideous abominations littered the ground in inhuman gore, with the occasional Earth soldier lying among them defeated. In their true forms the demonic soldiers of the Netherealm, those that remained, fled in terror. For at Rayden's sides were those of his army that remained. The warrior angels cautiously guarded their leader, making certain the retreat was genuine and that none of them still had fight in them. The end of a long and destructive battle was at hand. The cause of the centuries of destruction stood atop a cliff and looked to the horizon. Before him was a wasteland of rock, burned by the heat of endless battle and lifeless. In a rage he looked to the fiery heavens. From which famous story does the above snippet come? What's u're opinion on the story?

Charged with the power of his now healing amulet Shinnok ran for the fallen thunder god, to deliver the final blow. He tore the amulet from his neck and let all the power within it surge from out of his hand. The blackish purple light would burn through the soul of a mortal if he looked directly at it. The unholy light was the face of darkness itself, in pure form. "And with this blow I conquer ye!" He cried, ready to bring a rain of damnation upon his seemingly defeated opponent. "Ha ha ha," Rayden laughed, "you shouldn't have done that Shinnok." In a violent thrust Rayden extended a hand and released a strange sort of lightning bolt. A stream of magnetic tentacles that were instantly attracted to the seething amulet. On the other end it felt as though the entire magnetic field of Earth was pulling at the amulet, prying it from Shinnok's black hand. The immense planetary force retarded the dark power that struggled to stay outside of its source, the amulet. Slowly the hellish light regressed into the strangely cut emerald, back to where it originated. The magnetic lightning finally had the entire amulet in its mighty grip, pulling with all the gravity it could muster. And it was in the next moment that Shinnok began to doubt. With these fleeting thoughts quickly came the realization that for the first time in centuries he was powerless. The amulet had been torn from his hand. In a tragic gesture Shinnok fell to his knees, insanely staring at his empty hand. "No! This is not happening! My powers, they ARE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he wailed as the fire in his eyes turned black. In fear he looked to the triumphant figure over him. Rayden stood with the amulet in his hand, looking down at the slithering worm below him. With his head high and his eyes afire Rayden spoke. "GET OUT OF MY REALM!" With that Rayden raised his hand in the air. Above the sky burned brighter with the fury of the Elder Gods, hotter and louder the wrath. Suddenly an earthquake erupted from the earth. The rocky soil collapsed under the fallen form of Shinnok, opening into the eternal abyss. As he fell Shinnok screamed this vow. "I will be back for you thunder god!! One day you will kneel before me!! Evil never dies, even if you kill me it will find a way! MARK MY WORDS!!!!!.................................................."

U r correct Deep bro. Bideshi, Well...people can get lessons from wars too and war is a necessity sometimes. The war of Good against evil has been going on since time immemorable. Only now-a-days it seems the wars r only between evil-and-evil. Mortal Kombat: Threshold By: Devin L. Joy "Look now Shinnok. For your own soldiers betray you as they run. Your finished!" The mighty thunder god stood triumphantly upon the burned earth. Shinnok forcefully tore his red cloak from his shoulders and clutched the amulet around his neck. "Ha ha ha ha! Let them flee, the damned traitors. It has come to just you and me now thunder god, the centuries of war meant nothing but to lead us here. It seems I have waited an eternity for this very moment. The moment of your destruction!" Shinnok quickly removed his hand from the amulet as an unholy fire raged in his hateful eyes. The amulet ignited just the same, prepared for unimaginable destruction. With the killer instinct rushing through his entire being Shinnok pounced off the cliff. In a controlled free-fall he dove feet first for the ground at Rayden's feet. The earth shook under the terrible impact of his landing. Shards of rock chipped away under Shinnok's feet, actually creating an impact crater. The broken earth cracked as he stood to face his foe. Rayden forced his soldiers back as he erupted with incandescent lightning. Claps of deafening thunder cracked as his hands fed on the elements for power. The power grew so immense that his facial distinctions were invisible. Light burned from his eyes and raged within his clenched jaws. "SO BE IT! YOUR DAMNATION IS AT HAND!" The powerful words of Rayden muffled the sound of the thunder as the sky turned bright with hotter fire. Rayden had become a vessel of pure wrath, the entire Earth his power source. A source far greater than that of a meaningless medallion. Something great was happening to Rayden, and the power that raged within him was light unimaginable. The holiest of holy light. Shinnok lifted his head in a gesture of challenge, daring Rayden to strike first. When he noticed Rayden stood motionless he lashed out. The amulet enflamed his furious punch that was met by Rayden's hand, forcing the fist back. He then released a burst of light that shoved Shinnok back and to the ground. "HA!" Shinnok cried. A blast of unholy fire shot from his eyes. The blast was aimed for the ground, freeing rocky debris that shot directly into Rayden, pummeling him with rock. Indeed the assault hit a mark, not entirely the one intended because the seemingly injured god mauled through the flying rock with a blast of lightning. Shinnok became wide eyed, looking on in disbelief. In a flash of purple fire he disappeared from site. Knowing that his enemy had teleported Rayden turned quickly to his rear just as a flying kick had Rayden eating earth. Flat on his stomach Rayden jerked himself off the ground with his hands, looking to the looming figure of Shinnok above him with an electric glare. Without warning Shinnok threw a blast into Rayden's head, sending him flying into the cliff face behind him. His back cracked the rocky surface of the cliff as he winced in pain. "No, its not over yet Shinnok," he moaned. More electric force erupted from him as he leapt up. Suddenly he took to the air in a forward flying assault. The battle cry boomed from his lips, "Sssaaaaiiiiiigahhhhhhh!!!!!!!" In shock, Shinnok gave in to the crushing blow as it sent him flying backward, welling up weakened crags of rock in his wake. Looming over Shinnok Rayden grabbed the former Elder God's head in his hands and released all the holy power into his victim. "AAAAHHHHHHHHHHARRRRRRRRRAAAAAHH!" Shinnok screamed in agony as extreme voltage burned through his dark soul. "Can you feel it? Your black heart beating faster and faster, your dark soul slowly being devoured!" Rayden replied. Through another frustrated cry of pain Shinnok managed to command his powers still. Suddenly the nearly forgotten amulet burst forth with a terrible flash of hellish power, again sending Rayden backward and to the rock solid ground. With his body singed by lightning Shinnok looked less like a god and more like a blackened wretch. The white of his face mask was chipping away, displaying areas of his horrid flesh underneath. The red crown upon his head had burned away, exposing Shinnok's skull. The true picture of horror. His hand had been burned down to the black bones but still he rose.
