Hello, After 5 years (on and off) in and around Boston, among the Nepali guys and gals at Harvard Square, and artists and enthusiasts at various GBNC events, it is time for me to say good-bye to this town and all people I was fortunate to meet and to know. I will be relocating to a different time zone to be closer to my family, and to seek a more challenging professional opportunity (no, I have not been laid off). When I first came to Boston (August '96), driving my beat-up car from the country roads of West Virginia, I was at once attracted to its vibrance. I gave up driving in favor of the T. The next year, I was a part of the GBNC board. For a brief time, I worked for GBNCNews. During those two involvements, I was able to meet a lot of people and talk with them. At various occassions, I participated in defending GBNC's acts. Learning opportunities for me, nonetheless. Boston, as it is home to some of the world's more famous names, let me meet a few of its big-name peoples. For a dui_paise like me, these were big things and equally bigger parts of my learning process. Most importantly, I am grateful to amma for showing me around the Galbraith household, including his study and a huge collection of letters, and also allowing me to participate in the amma tradition. There are others, names too numerous to list. My other set of thanks goes to the guys at 2 Beech St. for unconditionally accepting me as a part of their home. Before I forget, I must admit this has been fun all along, trowing a few punches here and there, taking a few hits, and, most of all, not losing my sense of being a Nepali..... So long.. -diwas
