If your office is located in downtown Kathmandu, and if you want some catered, honest-God good dal-bhat-tarkari fare for lunch, do give this business a try: htpp://www.meethokhana.com This thing has a damn profitable business model; serves a demand very well; and is growing and growing to much acclaim. THis is just another instance of how creative entrepreneurs in Kathmmandu are finding niche markets and exploiting them to their advantage with great products and efficient services. Way to go!! Which leads me to think: With the growth in the number of office-complexes in Kathmandu in the past few years, why didn't the established restaurants aggressively create and grow this line of "catered lunch business"? A food for thought. oohi "forget big corporate houses in Nepal; it's the small guys that are doing soem interesting, creative and profitable-on-the-rupee work" ashu ktm, nepal

Sorry that there was a typo: Correct address: http://www.meethokhana.com Dirk -- which Jayendra Rai are you talking about? I also have a high school classmate (educated in London and now working for a big corporate house in Kathmandu) with the same name. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Do you still remember the "Bankali Mai" bus with Jain Dai at the helm?

I am trying to figure out who you are, dirk, without having to send you an email . . . I am thinkng: how many of my high school classmates enjoy those sexually complex, in-you-face kind of movies, all based on Hanif Kureishi's brilliantly written novels and stories? Not many, except for about four super-articulate classmates!!. So that narrows the field, somewhat. Hmmm . . . :-) On another note, just visited Brajesh -- our sure-shot biotech tycoon by 2015 AD, if not earlier -- last Saturday at a hospital. The poor guy (together with wife and kid) was hit by a drunken motorcyclist, and had to spend a month at the hospital. Do drop him a "get well" email. oohi ashu ktm, nepal
