Dear Site Visitors, For the last few weeks you might have received a "too many users" message when accessing the site. Well, here's the scoop on it. The company hosting sajha.com has contacted me with a request to upgrade the service since sajha.com was generating a lot of traffic. The cost of the upgrade would be more than twice as much per month as it is currently, and is more than what I can afford. Because of this reason, I am looking at other hosting options where I might be able to host sajha.com. The plug might be pulled at any time so if you get a PAGE NOT FOUND error, you know what the issue is. In the mean time if you are a chatter on sajha.com you will be able to access the chatroom at http://www.everywherechat.com and join #sajha. Any inconvenience is regretted. |

"...The plug might be pulled at any time..." I hope none of the material is lost in the process. So has ONE person been paying for Sajha? Not GBNC? An organization oughta back the effort. This has been a community thing. In the mean time: http://groups.google.com/ |

Just a reminder that few of the postings might get lost during this transition - which is regretted. Paramendra, I chose to take this on personally since it's quite a challange as well as an opportunity to contribute to the community at large so I wouldn't blame GBNC in anyway. Next year, depending on several issues, I might have to charge a nominal fee from GBNC for this. |

SAN Let us know if us, the members, can do anything about it. One person paying for this thing is a little, well...outrageous. U know they have something called paypal, even smallest of contribution could keep the engine running, if u're willing. Say what members? SAN? |

DWI's idea is wonderful. On a voluntary basis visitors being able to contribute. A paypal account for Sajha. |

Sajha.com has always had an option of getting contributions. I.e. from the ABOUT US page. I am posting contribute link here: Any contribution would be appreciated. |

This is a great oppurtunity for everyone to do something about Sajha. It is and canot be a soul dresponsibility. We as Sajha members must saviour our beloved Sajha at his time. San dai great effort by you but please why even think of taking it by your self. I can understand the Nepalese sentiment here ' Ma chiyako paisa tirchu " bhanya jasto. But this ios America. I had noticed this problem and have even brought it to you. I guess the problem was much bigger thatn thought. But anyway I am heading to the Paypal right now. |

How much does it cost (monthly/annually?) to keep sajha in the air? Perhaps it might be easier to find monthly-sponsor volunteers than to rely on unpredictable contributions. We can even name the sajha month according to the sponsor...e.g. Paschim Month, Sitara Month, Paramendra Month, Ashu Month, etc. Please pardon my taking the liberty of assuming that the most active members would be eager to become the sponsors. :) In the mean time, you can store the $$$ from other contributions in a contingency box as a back up for the months you do can't find sponsors. |

Administrative sources say that it is $40/month for current host. This host demands $100/month to continue. The admin. is trying to find a host which reliable and the cost is somewhere in the middle. Anyone ready to host the site monthly? Good luck! |

Okay I am really troubled by the current state of Sajha -- it's impossibe to open the threads and post. Sajha has been a great refuge for me for the past 9 months, and I can't see it wither. Like Anepalikt, I strongly request everyone to please contribute generously -- and also come up with innovative suggestions to make this web-hosting sustainable without adding too much burden to San. I, for one, am happy to bear the costs of hosting this site for a month or two or more -- I also like the suggestions such as that of Poonte-ji calling for the regulars (without the names) to step in more strongly. Please do contribute in any form or amount; but to all bourbon drinking folks, please forgo at least two bottles of Jack Daniel's this month -- and instead contribute that money to Sajha. San, let me know if you want me to forgo more bottles than I did yesterday!! For Sajha, woman, and country -- I'll do anything, absolutely anything :) |

Hey San, I want to contribute to the cause as well. This medium has served as an excellent form of entertainment for me during boring hours of work. maybe we can start a membership club sort of a thing. Pay like may be $5 per month(nominal enough right for those who can afford of course?) I think GBNC should chip in as well. The site promotes GBNC events for free right ? You have been charitable enough to pay on your own till now. |

C'mon now folks! Tell me if this is not a good form of entertainment or what ? I am not trying to hound anyone...Just trying to entertain myself here. In case of Mr Minder you tell me if there is a better way to shut up his chatterbox that would not stop yapping. My only advise to him is Practice what you preach otherwise shut the hell up. He is the very person he despises and does not realize it. |

50 users and still standing strong and fast, I think if this hold, this could be it. This new host provides unlimited bandwidth, more space than the old host and is even a little cheaper than the old host. Let's hope sajha.com doesn't hit this new host's radar screen cuz of too much traffic! |

Dumbao, Most likey this is going to be it. I've seen up to 60 users online today and the site was still fast. I think this is a great deal. Only thing we'll have to give up is the file upload capability but I think it's a small price to pay for now. Thanks |

San dai, thankyou for the information and your kind reply, But how about those who wanna post somthing in Nepali? Is there a possibility besides than a .JPG and posting it? If the upload capabilities would not be there anymore, is there any other way people can do what I mentioned above? Thanks again. |

To post in Nepali use the font tags at the beginning and end of your post for example: b'O{ lbgb]lv cj?4 lqe'jg cGt/f{li6«oljdfg:ynsf] wfjgdfu{ a'waf/ laxfg v'nfOPkl5 lbp";f] cjt/0f u/]sf]ljdfg a+unfb]zsf] ljdfg . cfsfzdf p8fg eb}{ OlG8og Po/nfOG;sf]ljdfg . ;f]daf/ lbp";f] ;]gfsf] x]lnsK6/ b'3{6gfu|:tx'"bf wfjgdfu{df Iflt ePkl5 ljdfg:yndf s'g} klg cGt/f{li6«o xjfO{p8fg / cjt/0f x'g ;s]sf] lyPg . t:jL/ M g]/Gb| >]i7÷ sflGtk'/ appears as: b'O{ lbgb]lv cj?4 lqe'jg cGt/f{li6«oljdfg:ynsf] wfjgdfu{ a'waf/ laxfg v'nfOPkl5 lbp";f] cjt/0f u/]sf]ljdfg a+unfb]zsf] ljdfg . cfsfzdf p8fg eb}{ OlG8og Po/nfOG;sf]ljdfg . ;f]daf/ lbp";f] ;]gfsf] x]lnsK6/ b'3{6gfu|:tx'"bf wfjgdfu{df Iflt ePkl5 ljdfg:yndf s'g} klg cGt/f{li6«o xjfO{p8fg / cjt/0f x'g ;s]sf] lyPg . t:jL/ M g]/Gb| >]i7÷ sflGtk'/ |

Just wanted to clear up on how to post in Preeti or Kantipur Font: Compose in word or some other word processor in Preeti or Kantipur font. After you're done, copy the whole text and paste it in the textbox which you normally use to post in sajha. At the very beginning of the start of the Nepali text insert the following: and at the end of the Nepali text, put the following: If you're using preeti font, use "preeti" instead of "Kantipur" Ok letz see some Nepali postings now! |

Mr Minder, Consider you being one of the Stars of Sajha...Have you made your financial contribution to Sajha. you know actions speak louder than words. Or would you rather be a miser and save it for your congressional election. This is the time when you put your money where your mouth is... |

Actually Suna, I just wrote to San suggesting this as an income opportunity for Sajha. But this is not a pay per view/click banner. It is more like an affiliate program that you build up. I figured San might be interested. I don't know how many of the Sajhaites maintain personal webpages though. As in: http://www.geocities.com |

Personally I'd rather see sajha.com continue to be sponsored by its users (if necessary I will happily raise my contribution) along the lines of NPR radio stations such as WBUR. No annoying flickering ads, and no take-overs by commercial sites. That is just my humble opinion. The decision rests with San... |
