More Coverage Online I am sure they have the legislation online. I just don't know where. If they have not included the citizenship stuff yet, that ought to be next. When a Nepali man marries someone from another country, she gets citizenship. Nepali women deserve the same. When they marry men from another country. I'm with you. More |

Thanks Paramendra. One of the links led to a page that said: "The passage of the 11th Amendment Bill modifies a host of discriminatory laws in the Nepal Civil Code that affect women, ranging from equal rights to grant citizenship to children and equal rights to ancestral property, as well as safe abortion." If this is true, it's interesting that most of the coverage focuses on the abortion part of it. I'll check out Nepalnews to see if they got anything there. |
