in the middle of monsoon
a little child runs amok
while another cries in tantrum
a mother cooking in a chulo
smokey room
the father in the corner
smoking bidi
the sister doing homework
torn pages in history book
torn pages in sociology book
torn clothes drying in the string
inside the smokey room
water dripping down the walls
of the smokey room
tar and soot adorning the walls
of the smokey room
Life goes on in the smokey room
