Hi all, Next Tuesday, October 8 at 5 pm Martin Chautari, Thapathali, is hosting a Mangal Baray Talk program on: "Perspectives on Business Development Services" Presented by two speakers: Mr. Navin Dahal, Program Officer at Small Industries Promotion Project , and by Mr. Ashutosh Tiwari, Director of Business Service Aadhar, Heritage Plaza, Kathmandu. Come one, and come all to hear about the triumphs and the pitfalls of working with profit-oriented (and that's a good thing!) private-sector businesses in Nepal. Come and ask merciless, challenging questions to stretch learning for all of us. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Sure, psychodreamer, Nanglo jindabaad. One of the great perks of living and working in Kathmandu while posting stuff on sajha is that many fascinating Nepalis and friends of Nepal from all over the world end up being my good friends/acquaintances. . . In the last two years, I have had the privilege of meeting -- over beer, food, chiya-siya and for guff-suff -- many silent and not-so-silent sajha visitors whenever they are in CatManDo. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Hi all, Just a short note to let you know that the discussion program went really well at Martin Chautari last evening. Pratyoush Onta, freshly back from the UK, started with critical yet challenging questions? [Why are businesses in Kathmandu publishing ads in papers thanking the King these days?] Others in the audience asked excellent, searching questions re: private sector development strategies, issues related to business ethics, government policies, entrepreneurial cultures, and why and how we (Business Service Aadhar and SIPP) do what we do . . . Altogether, it was an intellectually fun program at Chautari. oohi ashu ktm, nepal
