Subash Gurung to face six-month jail term KOL Report KATHMANDU, Oct 8 – Subash Gurung, the 27-year-old Nepali, who was arrested with a dozen knifes while trying to board a jetliner in Chicago, United States weeks after the September 11 terror attacks, has been sentenced six-months in jail, AP reported on Tuesday. He is to be deported to Nepal within a week. However, defense attorneys have ruled out terrorist links and have blamed Subash's problem to depression. The US television network, CNN, had first accused Subash of having terrorist links. Subash, who was overstaying his student visa in the United States, has already served 11 months in jail. The AP report added that Subash and his attorney addressed the court from a Minnesota Prison Hospital via a closed circuit television where he has been receiving psychiatric treatment. (sjs)
