Thanx for sharing those Dashain pictures. I do have to say the girl with camel top, jeans and a hat. Man! What's up that hat? She might have try to look like a jlo, but girl, you look like you need a fashion makeover. She could of look better without that hat. I voted her the worst dress. :)

Yuck! Not even a girl is pretty. Jeez! They all either got slanted eyes and sharp noses or round eyes and flat noses. It's OK if you look totally oriental or totally Indian, but in-between is no good. Now I know why one of the derogatory words used by Indians against Nepalis is Chindian.

HEY, PLEASE GIVE PEOPLE SOME RESPECT. WE HAD A PARTY TO GET TOGETHER AND HAVE FUN, AND NOT TO BE JUDGED FOR OUR LOOKS BY A GANG OF MASKED WRITERS ON SAJHA.

Yo, if you don't wanna get judged, then you shouldn't have posed for Sajha in the first place. In a public forum, it's expected that some will diss and others will exalt. If you really want your picture to be removed, please email the moderator. And had I known it weren't a Dashai party, I would have thought Nepalis went to some Halloween Party. LOL.

I just pulled up a few pictures for curiosity, and it looks like a group of Nepalis having a nice time. Bhedo, For someone who picked up on racism in a magazine article, I'm surprised that you don't see the bigotry, misogyny and--yes--racism in your own comments. "It's OK if you look totally oriental or totally Indian, but in-between is no good. Now I know why one of the derogatory words used by Indians against Nepalis is Chindian." GEEEEEEZ. For your information, it's OK to look ANY WAY WE ARE BORN. And as for being a visible racial mix: Is there something wrong with multiculturalism in action???

Well, going to Nepali parties and being mistaken for an Indian time and again has really pissed me off. Nepalis are prone to judging quickly. So, why do I think people mistake me for an Indian, even in Nepali functions? I think it's because phenotypically, I have purer features than most Nepalis, although genotypically I am no different. Also, Nepalis are the only ones who think I am Indian because I have been mistaken for Persian, Afghan, Turk, Sicilian, etc. That's the conclusion I have come with. I do spend quite a bit of time looking for pictures of Nepali people trying to figure out what my people look like, and why people think I'm a foreigner.

Nice pictures!! but was kind of surprised to see no Durga Puja pictures... I don't know if dasain means just dancing and eating.. we at this end, did a grand puja with bajans and shlokas followed by arati and a pure vegetarian dinner and bhajan dances at the end... I wonder if the party has some dasain puja at all?????? 21st century +american lifestyle I suppose... Sad but true!! Ruck..

Bhedo, I also looked at some of the pictures, may be I missed the camel-top lady. Anyway, are you aware that it was a gathering to celebrate our great festival and have some fun? Are you aware that it was NOT a beauty contest..yo ramri yo naramri bhanna lai? Happy Dashain to everyone.

bhedo, your attitude sucks!!! Let anyone present the way they want, who are you to judge them when apparantly they have no intention to be judged. Your wrote yourself how pissed off you were when people mistook you for an indian. You would not have been pissed off if they had not judged you and accepted you for just who you are, would you? Don't you think the girl on the picture (whoever she is) deserves the same non-judgemental acceptance?

And mind you, the pictures were there to show that nepalese were having such celebration in boston, NOT to ask whether the dancers were hot or not.

It is unfair to pass negative comments about the people in the pictures. These people are in the pictures NOT because they wanted to be in there. These pictures are simply there to provide a sense of community - to show the celebration of Dashai 2002 in Boston, and to provide remembrances in the future. Many times I have been asked not to take pictures or post in the web because of the scrutiny it receives. These are not celebrities or public figures who we can feel free to scrutinize. Let us please respect other individuals. Your discretion in this matter is appreciated.

Pictures are great and covers wide number of peoples. Everyone is looks happy and entertaining, that is the measure of success of this organization, and it should not be treated as the gathering of the selected beautiful girls or handsom boys. In earth, there are peoples of all varities good looking, bad looking, old looking, chwak looking, well dressed, not so well dressed. They all have right to stay and enjoy as they like and its the democracy and freedom. Bhedo has right to make comments, but not haphazardly, and he can not make negative derogatory comment on peoples who have not disturbed his rights or someone else's rights. Bhedo is you are behind someone's else outlook, then, you first change yourself and very first item to change is your name. Look at the mirror, your name is so ugly that I feel like you move with SHIGAN "BHEDO" all the time and had your brain disturbed while shucking and ejecting the "BHEDO" from your own head. Mind your own "BHEDO SHIGAN".

Whoever posted the dasain pictures should expect some amount of critisism, this is plain human nature to comment on something they see.. however, I have no comments but I surely do think ppl have the right to say what they feel and. However,it's weird to see pictures being posted on public forums... Sad but true...

What the heck is wrong with you ppl. Have I said anything negative? NO! I don’t think so. Well, I have an every right to make comments about the pictures posted in this public site. Also; I didn’t say she wasn’t pretty or ugly. I was only saying that her hat didn’t really match with her vintage style. May be that’s way she wanted it. I don’t know. You know what, I have no further comments. Jules

Raja King, why would I want to be criticized? It doesn't really matter what I look like, because the point I'm trying to make is, if you can't take criticism lightly, then you shouldn't bother posting your pic in an easily accessible website. Never said I'm a goodlooking fellow. Believe what you want to believe about me and my looks, for it won't make an ounce of difference. I am what I am, that ain't gonna change. However, I still maintain that, aside from the girl above (she looks good sideways, although she is another Roseanne look-alike frontally), rest look like they came straight out from some low budget horror movie. What's Shigan, btw? My pseudonym is just that --a pseudonym. And I wasn't the one who started this thread anyways. Oh, and if you don't like me scrutinizing you, please email San. He'll happily take down your pics. And why should I respect them if I don't even know them in real life? Since I only got their pics to judge from, of course I will come up with my own conclusions about their attitudes. Having said that, I am going to abstain from dissing someone from now on. CASE CLOSED!
