The spreading network of Maoists and other sister organizations could spell disaster for the region. India needs to stop being a bystander in this struggle and start helping Nepal fight her battle.

It was not long ago that India showed indifference to Nepal's plight. Now, from this and other news pieces and articles it appears that the conflict is taking a new turn and looks detrimental to India too.

No wonder that the Indian authorities were suddenly quick in capturing Maoists leaders and workers and were successful in interrupting supplylines on the border.

Increased pressure at home and across the border might be needed to pursuade the Maoists to come to the table, provided that the political parties themselves don't start doing the work on their behalf.

The Maoists could not have asked more during the last seven years: the party bickering, the Girija-Bhattarai-Deuba circus, Chakka Jams, and a series of corrupt administrations and scandals, and now the Royal takeover triggering a new round of constitutional discourse.

This in mind, we actually can't blame India too much either. We need to clean our house first before expecting favors from our neighbors.

India may suffer like UML in Nepal is suffering from the enjoyment of killing of Nepali congress cadress in early days of Maoist expansion. Don't enjoy on wrong things happened to others, the enemy of your enemy can not be your friends, it will be your illusive temporary friend until the enemy makes your primary enemy weak. As the power of your enemey crumbles and his existence is not important to the enemy of your own enemy. By that time, its too late for you to control the enemy of your own primary enemy and he turns on yourself. The enemy of your enemy will leave your primary enemy and thinks you are his next rival i.e. remaining enemy. It was better to have vegetarian enemy and help him remain alive, compared to letting carnivorus enemy of your vegatarian enemy become strong and strong. Maoists were carnivorous enemy to Kangress, and UML enjoyed the carnivorous defeating the kangress, but, now the carnivorous Maoists is switched to UML, and UML want kangress to help them. Unfortunately, the amputed Kangress is itself struggling to survive. If UML was talent enough, and had helped the vegetarian enemy and jointly defeated the carnivorous enemy before it gets strong, the scenario that we are facing these days won't have come up.

Better help your Vegetarian enemy survive the carnivorous enemy, even though the carnivorous enemy of your own primary enemy is trying to weaken your primary enemy. Vegetarian enemy can be cowtowed by piercing its nose, as man does it on elephant to cow? Only dog and cats from carnivorous class are friends to human, but, sometime vulnerable to attack. Vegetarian animal need training, but, carnivorous animal have no friend outside their own class or closed class community. India and Nepal were intially democratic country, but, vegetarain enemies as a neighbour, but, India tried to enjoy the attack on Nepal by carnivorous creature and now they are smelling the same on their own side.

iXY, awesome analogy!!! Took a while to follow the 'LOGIC' of enemey of enemy of enemy but I did it.

Hope some Indians see it and some UML read it.

Scary thing is most of the UML workers are turning to Maoists out of fear or whatever!!! Ones who don't are getting killed!

Wake up Nepal!!!! Country and the the leader both!!!!
