Do NOT hastily buy from nepalisite.com ! This is what happended to me:

I got a good fare quote from them for a roundtrip fare to nepal. I was pretty excited to see that low fare, so I stopped shopping around and made them my final choice for the ticket. After around a month and a half of playing with my departure date, they finally come up with an increased fare. Since it was too late for me to look around for other fares, i decided to go with the hiked fare. After a few days, I checked my account and i figured out they had charged me $103 more than the original quote and even that WITHOUT my authorisation !!

Since I am too excited to go home, I can't do nothing about it but just wait and enjoy my trip to nepal. But for them, they should realize it's business; if you can't keep your promise, you should be the one to suffer, not me as a customer. Why should I have to pay that extra amount and still have 15 hours stayover at transit airports? I could have gotten better itenerary for the same price. And moreover, how could they deduct that extra money from my account WITHOUT my authorisation !

what do you have to say about this, nepalisite?

I suggest you shop around for other agents before you make use of one of nepalisite.com's *deals*.

I also have a prob with nepalisite.com, i have made full payment but am still waiting for my tickets and have not been able to have contact with those people for weeks now, i wonder what's happening, does anyone know anything about this
chipledhunga Posted on 24-Oct-02 12:34 AM

Tripin, I agree with monki. I have used Peaceland for my last two trips to Nepal and I am thoroughly pleased with this agency. Third Eye was a bit slower responding and did not offer me a very good deal but supposedly it offers better deals if you are flying from the west coast. Bon voyage.
nepalisite Posted on 24-Oct-02 09:01 AM

Hello,
I hear your comments. Nepalisite.com doesn't reserve any tickets. Deals that you request thru Nepalisite.com is responded by Nepali Travel agent.
Nepalisite.com in no way trying to rip people off. The travel agent is a sponsor o fthe site.
Nepalisite.com has received several quote requests and several have also purchased the tickets.
I understand that some of you had problems.
In future if such problems arise then please contact me at admin@nepalisite.com directly so that I can address this issue to the travel agent and may be kick them out from the site.
Sometimes mistake occurs. I am sure some of you have also had problems with big companies in the past. All we can do is to prevent them from happening.
I will address this issue to them ASAP.
I am open to your suggestion and you have a right to send us an email if you have any suggestions or problems. Don't keep them to yourself.
Let us hear....

Thank you .

We used Peaceland Travels to get our tickets before, we are doing it again. The agent over there, Mr. Robin Bhandari, is very easy to talk to and imparts the impression that he genuinely cares for his customers. The price he procured for us was not necessarily the lowest available, but I don't mind paying little extra for the superior customer service he provided, better route with reputable airlines and shorter layovers.

In the previous trip to Nepal, our first connecting flight got delayed, which made us miss the rest of the flights from LA onwards. In panic, we called Peaceland, our travel agent, and they negotiated and acquired rest of the flights for us, while we were still talking in the phone.

We did check with other travel agencies, mostly Nepali-affiliated, including the one from Nepalisite.com. But the customer service was not as good, the response time was way too long, the fare was not much lower than what Peaceland offered even with the less convenient route with lesser known airlines and longer layovers.

So, I say, go with Peace...land.

I don't want to sound like telling you how to run your business but it might be wise to check with your affiliates BEFORE listing yourself as their agent. Waiting until things go wrong can RUIN your reputation.

nepalisite Posted on 24-Oct-02 12:24 PM

Thank you monki...
The agent has been sponsoring the site for few months now.
Till now I hadn't seen any negative remarks. I was getting several emails with positive comments.
According to the agent, they had issued many tickets also.

Sometimes things can go wrong and I understand that make customers frustrated.
I have had problems with well reputed companies also, and I understand the problem.

Again nepalisite.com doesn't give quotes or reserves a ticket. Once you request the quote the agent will get back to you.

Again lets hope such things doesn't happen in the future...and please make sure that you communicate well with the agent.
If you encounter any problem in communicating with the agent then email us ASAP.
Thank you...
jame bonds Posted on 24-Oct-02 01:35 PM

Nepalisite
it does not look like someother travel agency is sponsoring the tickets portion. Normally you would have a link to the sponsor site. The way it works in your site it seems like you guys do the ticketing work as well. you should make that think really clear before you start earning a bad reputation.
nepalisite Posted on 24-Oct-02 03:17 PM

Dear Jame Bonds...
I am explaining again that Nepalisite.com doesn't do any ticket work at all.
Travel agent doesn't have the website that is why we created a form for them which sends the request directly to the travel agent.
So again Nepalisite.com is not linked with any ticketing process....
If you want to find out whether the travel agent is sponsoring the site or not you could ask them directly and they will be providing you the answer.
Thank you.
diwas k Posted on 24-Oct-02 08:42 PM

Nepalisite,
Could you explain that (what you explained to Jame Bonds) to the visitors of your website? I think potential customers visit your site before looking for reviews at sajha.com. _d

I had contacted J.J. Travels and even talked to Mr./Mrs. Basnyat about my reservation. I even emailed them but they were very late at responding and after a while they didn't even bother to reply. Yeah, the prices that announce was much cheaper than any other agencies but I still had doubts. Then I saw that they sponsored Nepalisite.com and thought that they might be a reputable agency or an authorized agent. But now it dosen't look like they are even interested in doing business, they sound fake. I gave their number to one of my friend before but warned him to be careful coz they don't sound faky. Well, sorry to hear that someone got charged more and had to face so much problems. I hope that we don't encounter such problems in future.

NepaliSite:
It is obvious that you are being compensated for ALL the sales originating from YOUR web site. To an ordinary client, it is not clear whether the information submitted at this url: http://www.nepalisite.com/deal1.html, is sent directly to JJ Travels and OR used by your operation for marketing schemes. A more expilicit disclaimer at this page might be something you want to include. YOU (NepaliSite.com) are being held PARTIALLY responsible for JJ Travels' unfair business practices and one could NOT DISAGREE.

Anyways, if you REALLY CARE about your site's reputation, you should directly involve yourself and take care of "well-wisher's" problem.

Dear Monkie,
I have now made the changes on the page.
I hope that will be clear to the users or visiotrs.
I have also contacted the agent regarding the comments from some of the users.
Thank you again and please let me know if you have more suggestions.
And please email to me if there is anything..
yatra Posted on 27-Oct-02 12:47 PM

I am also really disappointed with J.J.Travels whom i totally trusted. There was a huge mix up with tickets and they are very difficult to contact. on top of that,i also got charged extra without my authorisation. I hope they would not repeat the same mistake again.
Rusty Posted on 31-Oct-02 01:42 PM

Monki...
As your recommendation, I contacted "Peaceland Travels"; the lady who picked up the phone was supposed to call me back.....it's so ridiculous that she never called me back!! Should I follow your alternative agencies?
