The beloved Senator of Minnesota Paul Wellstone, his wife, daughter along with three campaign staff died this morning in a plane crash. He was 58 years old and was on his way to a funeral in Northern MN. What a horrible tragedy for the whole nation! May their souls rest in peace. Senator Paul Wellstone was a man full of passion, energy and enthusiasm, who was an articulate voice, a true spokesman for the people of MN. He has been a great source of inspiration to me and I bet to all the young people out there. His ability to connect with the ordinary people, his fight for the issues he believed in, his success in bringing positive changes to the society through his active role in the US Senate have touched the hearts of many people. He was indeed a great public servant. Only ten days to go for the election and we hear such a tragic news. It has caused deep deep profound sadness to the people especially here in MN for we have lost not only a great senator but also a wonderful human being. Let us all pray for his family members especially his two sons.

Some of Wellstone's article I found in the Nation, a liberal (left leaning) paper. Winning Politics, February 19, 2001 http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20010219&s=wellstone If Poverty is the Question, April 4, 1997 http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=19970414&s=wellstone
