Dear Intellectuals and Freaks,
I'd like to thank you for reading this prologue. This thread is not asking for your input, comments or criticisms but rather a continual with all of your unique fragments of indelible memories. We all have our own unique past but I am sure at some generic time, we can relate to each others experiences and anecdotes ..Hope to get our memories threaded together ;) les give it a try at least! CONTINUE!************************************************************

The chilly November wind hit against my chest, as I cycled past the polluted people, polluted city, and the polluted minds. Soon, I was in the educational institute, an isolated "alcatraz" would be a more appropriate term for it. The black gates were still closed like the prison cell. Pale dai, peeped from the window and asked me to show my ID.
HOW ON EARTH DID I DECIDE TO JOIN THIS PRISON FOR MY HIGH SCHOOL.. I was cursing myself. If I had only listened to my sister and gone to TC, things would have been different. I knew, i wouldn't have any stories to tell to my children let alone the grand children of the most exciting years in a boy's life. The morning seemed very gloomy like always for that matter. As I dragged my bicycle towards the stand, I saw her and my heart leaped out......there she was , walking elegantly towards me with her head straight up, and her black wavy hair fluttering in the wind. I stood there frozen in time as she approached me with her million dollar smile.........

-- And now she was just about 20 yards from me. I could feel my heart beating like the rhythm in Michael Jackson's "beat it" song "dhuk taak dhuk taak dhuk taak". My legs literally started shaking. Now she was about 10 yards from me. I could feel the boiling blood running through my frozen nerves. For a second, she looked down, then she tossed her hair, raised her head up as she was approaching me. 5 yards, 4 yards, 3, 2 ... it was like a slow motion. She looked like Karishma KC in a commercial, with muna chiya in her hand -- slow motion. My hands were clung to the handle of my baalgiri cycle. And she spoke... "taato paaani ma kaagati nicharera chini gholera hot lemon" banako jasto sumadhur tara thapa aawaz ma... "Ke cha??,(before i could say anything), timi saauni ko chori ko saathi hoina? (i just nod my head), "Herana, yo card euta uslai deu na please, mero dherai kaam bhayo, ma jaanai paaina kalankisthan samma, Next week mero marriage cha, tyasaile busy bho... tyo card deu hai please!)... and before i could nod my head again, she was gone.

[hahaha, kalankistan classic...]

....I was tired of going around giving the cards. Why did I need to volunteer? After all, it was not my marriage. I think I had taken a complete round of Greater handigaon at least thrice. When I reached Bishalnagar, I stopped by at Abhas's. I knew he'd always come out with something refreshing to tone my boring routine that had been going on.

I met him right at the front gate. He was going out too.
"Eh oys! k gari ra?"
"card badi ra ni, la ta pani euta li" He laughed at me.....lau khabarai nagarikana eklai gardina la..kya chupe rustam!"
"hyaa yaar, panku dai ko k...chodde..malai bhok lagyo, ta kata?"

"Eh! la la ramro, heed ma sanga, ma chai gairidhara ko sekwa center ma halves dina jana la..jane bhaye heed" I couldn't say no, deen bhar ko bhoko and pyasi!

The very thought of that naan, sekwa and chisoo coke......."oiee beer pani jawos hai ta???" I was hopeful...........

Later I was totally clueless...What the hell should I do now? I thought. I wanted to reaffirm the news. So, I looked at Bekha and asked, "Satte?" .

"Dharo dhrama....Vidya nas" Dharo dharma ta thikai ho tara yo schoolai nagako mu** ko vidya nas lai kattiko manyata dine ho, I wonder. I still wanted to learn more.

"Ani Bekhadai ko sanga Tap dya re chha ta?"
" OOhi sanga re....arko hapta bya chha yo hapta ma tyo allachhina sanga bhagera satya nas....baru Oys_ khai say rupya chha...iceberg tannu paryo...chiso chiso chha" Bekha paused.

I didn't know what to do with the damn nimtos. Bekha was still looking at me with second world war face.

Deep, Your postings are pure delight.

...I was stoned. Couldn't even nod my head. Stunned, staring at the nimto card. Card ta cheap khaal ko thiyo, nepali kaagaz ko, 2 thau ma pattyako, 2 part rectangular, one part triangualr. Kalimati Jeevan ko pasal ma geet ghanki raa thyo, " Udayo sapana sabai huri le"... kansiri taatera aayo mero. Radio Nepal le yo geet ni Record nabigre samma bajhaaune bho. I was still stunned, still staring at the nimto card.

"pyaatta" mero ghuchchuk ma somebody hit. I turned, it was Bekha cha. "chimmya ** gwarcha Bekha. Yetra ghuchcuk ma hanya, mero aankha niklya.. bh.." he interrupted me, "Ke ho, bihana bihana chwank sanga.." balwan chaap ko paaket kholdai " ... saayeri handai this ni". He put some khani in his palm, ani Right hand ko dui fingers le khaini haat ma liyera, haat jhatkaldai left hand le lower lips chyapu sammai tandai he was about to put khaini in his mouth, i said "Yetra mula, aba chwank lai ni bhauju bhannu parne bho arko week bata". He stopped. He looked at me with First World War Face;). "ye card herna..." I read the card from "mangalaya pundari kashya" dekhi "prarthi" samma. Bekha said "ye OOhi le udayecha?? -- bhagyamani ko bhutai kamaro".. " ani mu** bau aama ko naam ta dekdina ni, pakkai flying marriage hola". i said "hola Hola"... he said "La tyaso bhaye euta gaida nikal ta, ice berg hannu paryo". Aba paryo fasad. Suddenly I saw oyes dhalkidai dhalkidai haat ma card ko mutha lidai approaching us. I said. ooo, oys is coming... Ma hinde, oys sanga chattis ko ankada cha mero. Bekha was lookin' at me ... Twallla... I head oys callin' bekha dai --"Oye boka.. ke cha??"

bekha said "yo kalanki moro kasto swasni jasto, ghose manche sabbai muan ma rakcha"
I couldn't hold my laughter any longer "aaba k garne bekha, swasni manche ko dherai sangat pare pachi tyastai ho.....tyasmathi aajkaal pheri sauni ko chori ko wari pari saat phera ta deen kai lagaucha"
"hyaa chodde" said bekha, "jaam dhobikhola teera" ......wow finally he said what i wanted to hear...."ek chin dhoop salkayera cricket khelum..ani matrix herne..akaash ma"

I had seen that matrix once before..and believe me it was better than the movie.
"oiee sunis oys, mausam le tyo madise ko haat chapkaidecha ni.." i wasn't paying attention to him at all....my mind was racing through time to see the matrix...........
