I feel sorry for the Jai Nepal Cinema Hall guys, All of them are young and hardworking. Some of them are US-returnees. They invested a lot of money to do up that old hall to get it up and running with good sound-system, AC and other conveniences. And now the Maoists come along, and scare everyone by blowing up a bomb in the toilet of that movie hall. Given this kind of khattam security, who wants to and can do business in Nepal? Ke garne? Nepal ko taal dekhay.ra, dukha laagcha. So much potential here, but all of it . . going down the drain. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

This is just terrible! How safe do you all feel? Or, rather how vulnerable do you all feel? Maybe these are just stupid questions.... I guess I am just sad and horrified...

These people are sending a message. Some of my (childlike) observations: 1. Strategic locations are being hit. It appears that they're targeting to the proximity of the palace ( at least 3 of them on 10/27). 2. Business entities, or places with imporant information are being targeted. 3. The security and the intelligence gathering means ( or even the semblance of it) seem to be dismal even in the capital. The rebels are going to further launch attacks in the future in the capital, in an attempt to cripple the nomal life there-- as they'll take advantage of the current political uncertainty, the lifting of the emergency (that had been imposed last year), and the lack of security. This would give them further momentum in their fight. 4. They want to be heard and taken seriously despite their double standards--which makes it difficult to really process and decode their ambigious messages . 5. They either might be maintaining double standards, or the Head of the Moists have no control of the lower cadres. Friday was a day when Mr. Dahal of the M party said they might go for dialogues. Then, on Sunday they lauch these bomb attacks, and Monday, they call for Valley Bandh. ______________________________________ All this is truly sad and a great loss to our nation! New business ventures mightl go bankrupt (at this rate), and new capitals won't flow in, causing further harm to the economy. The lives of private citizens have to be spent in constant fear, terror, and fading hope [for change] every passing day. What are Messrs. G., C., G.P.K., and the leftists leaders upto? Will they keep on bickering and fighting amongst each other while everyone suffers? Is there something we can do in the same manner that Ruck initiated the thread of ,"the least we can do," ?
