Supposedly the happening star on the Latin America music scene.

Introducing Shakira

As her countryman, Nobel Prize winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote, "Shakira's music has a personal stamp that doesn't look like anyone else's and no one can sing or dance like her, at whatever age, with such an innocent sensuality, one that seems to be of her own invention."

Introducing Lula

Exit Poll: Brazil's Lula Set to Win Presidency

SAO PAULO, Brazil (Reuters) - Former union leader and veteran leftist Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva looked set to win Brazil's presidential election by a wide margin on Sunday, according to an exit poll.

Lula, as the former factory worker is known, had 63 percent of the vote, according to the poll by the Ibope institute commissioned by the Globo TV network. His government-backed rival, Jose Serra, took 37 percent.

The poll of 52,170 people had a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

Frustrated with rising unemployment and spiraling crime, Brazilians of all classes have lined up behind Lula, who has moved his once far-left Workers' Party to the center in search of more votes.

Lula would become Brazil's first working-class president and his victory would mark a turning point for the country and the rest of Latin America, where power has traditionally been held by the military or the small, wealthy elite. Lula would also lead Brazil's first ever elected left-wing government.
