Greetings,

There's a news anchor on FOX NEWS channel whose name is Kiran Chetri. She kind of looks like someone from Nepal or someone with a nepali heritage. I have been watching her read news for the last 3 weeks and I am pretty much sure that she has some Nepali-conenction.

If she is a nepali or someone with a nepali heritage, I think its a great achievement for her and for us. At least a nepali has made it to TV in the US. Isn't this something to be proud of?

Kiran Chetry joined Fox News Channel in 2000 and serves as a news update anchor.


Prior to joining Fox News, Chetry was a morning anchor and reporter for KXTV in Sacramento, California. Prior to her stint there, she served as the main anchor and health reporter for WICU-TV, Erie, Pennsylvania from 1996 to 1999. Chetry began her career in journalism in 1995 as a reporter for News 21 in Rockville, Maryland.

1n 1997 she received the Best Enterprise Reporting award from the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association for her series "Young and Hooked," which looked at teen smoking.

Chetry received a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland’s College of Journalism.
