Lost And Found My carefree spirit, I lost, to the winter of maturity; My childhood dreams, vanished with reality. The confidence of youth, the bliss of ignorance, all disappeared, with the dawn of knowledge. Freedom of thought, word and action, entangled in the web of despair. Despair: A time wrought with agony, a disillusionment of life. A change so permanent, everything that was, is not. Values disolved by the tides of life. Even a smile, buried deep Everything that was built, destroyed stone by stone; Unravelled thread by thread, Every bit of love, squeezed by hands of fate. But From the debris, I have salvaged my soul; from death, a new life; From tears, a flicker of a smile; From destruction, a rebirth; From the past, a future; From Was, to Am Each a lesson on its own.. Well taught by the teacher himself; Life, the Greatest Guru of them all. Always a Zennist! :) For all those who have loved and lost, lived and survived!!!

Sitara, Thank you for the poem. Really needed those emotions voiced.....from my side of life! Indeed, life is the greatest guru of them all . . . . Can't help putting forth these lines from an old song. :) Jo thokar na khaae Nahin jeet uski Jo girkar samhal jaae Hai jeet uski Nishaan manzilon ke Yeh pairon ke chhaley Kaha jaa raha hai Tu aye jaane waley Andhera hai manka Diya to jalaley! In peace.

Survivor.. "Independent Woman" - Destiny's Child... You are smooth in your flow, in every word, i see a life rejuvenating-- the harsh winter gives way to a rising bloom of little flowers... memories of the past packed away, it is once again a time to celebrate a new beginning, and live heartily in the present. Keep more coming... Peace!

Sitara, Spiritualism and partial pragmatism revealed in your elegant poem!! It is just wonderful! So, you are a zenist? Another Lost and found by me, which is no close to yours' one!! Missing in the darkness, vanished without a trace, with only the memories and photographs, to fill an empty place. Frequent prayer and fervent cries, is there anyone there? But the only sound was the silent eternal fanfare. For a long time its deafening sound subdued by a path through lost and found. Laughter and sorrow, anguish and grief, all the moments of a life but with no relief. Everything and nothing one within and between all, gentle, loving, pervading, the eternal silence falls.

Tranquiller ji Speechless!!! < one within and between all, gentle, loving, pervading, the eternal silence falls>>> Your last stanza says it all! The silence which reflects the peace of mind, is for me the epitome of bliss! A state of mind where one resides in internal and external harmony! Thank you! Yes I am a Zennist! :)

Sitara Ji, I ask you permission to interpret your poem but I don’t know methodology for doing this. In this poem, I found that the poet has compromised to the forces of time as the poem starts describing lax childish days and ends with realization about life in the last stanza. The use of figurative words such as disillusionment of life, tides of life, hands of fate prove this. And these are the words that have made this poem a real experience of life. The last stanza is a forceful compromise between poet’s aspiration and the unmitigated force that is imminent in every life cycle. In over all, poet sought for optimism but cautious.

Madhav ji... Well, I must say I am impressed by your interpretation. Yes, you have touched the core of my emotive expression...... And yet, Her compromization with life is devoid of listless resignation to Fate. She has experienced the heights of bliss and the depths of sorrow which she has attempted to express in her use of figurative speech. Thank you for your comments, hajur!

Madhav, Very well interpretation! Sitara Sometimes, the height of ecstasy is very plain in sight. But, the depth of sorrow can not be gauged by smudge spectacles. However, you tried hard enough to express yourself, with your feeling and sensation. Tranq

So very real, indeed! I have been through all that preceeds "BUT"--it's what follows after that keeps testing me relentlessly. Hajur, I wish I had more strength! Nice piece!

Poonte "my cute one" (so they say re in Sajhako chat!!! ;) Thankyou! Sometimes, if we unhook ourselves from the "but" life might smooth itself out without the "bumps" hoina? :P

Meaning what it means Meaning , what it means years of rigorous experience of "living" burning, lacerating, pumping and breathing yet, the meaning of -meaning- what it means, i have not been able to figure out i still dont know what it means when it means that it means! despite being alive full of life and kicking i still dont know what it means , when you "mean" what you mean i sometimes feel, there is no such thing as "meaning" its just another creation of God like God itself but it still bothers me what i mean when i say i dont know , the "meaning" to meaning i guess it just means nothing its just a feeling! this might not be so pertinent to the discussion above, talk about digressions!! N.B- just a doodle. :-) regards, lamachaur.

Lamachaur ji Are you in quest for the meaning of life? Thank you...for you poetry! I had to read it again to understand the depth. I mean what I say ki I say what I mean? :)
