All we do is talk..talk.. and talk. Talk is Cheap. Why can't we blame those politicians who ruined the country. They are still taking advantage of public and fooling people. But who are the politicians? SO funny that they call Newari: Jyapu, Pahadi: Bhote and Taraibasi: Madise. Bottom line is they dont trust the majority of people. Do they deserve to be a leader?

jeevan gurung Posted on 09-Nov-02 03:00 PM

Yes, it is very well written petition. What good is the petition if same people who hates majority of the people come to the power? Are we repeating the same thing of the 1990 in which we made Netas filthy rich and the country and majority of the jantas damn poor like Africans.

May be the book cover will be different, but contents will be same.

SIWALIK Posted on 11-Nov-02 11:12 AM

This is really a misguided petition. This statement speaks volume why I think so: "We the undersigned therefore urge YOU, WORLD LEADERS, to take an initiative to bring democracy back to Nepal."

I say, if Nepalese people want democracy, THEY have to fight for it. THEY can not looks askance at everyone else to come give it to them. The same goes for our development. It is not the world who needs to "take initiative" for anything that goes on in Nepal. it is US. The dedication, plans, visions, EVERYTHING should start with NEPALESE themselves. THERE IS NO MASSIAH BUT OUR OWN SELF.

Dear Garibjanata: Our SAVIOR is no one else, not even our leaders. You are your own savior, not I. So if you want to uplift yourself, do not expect someone else to come and do it for you. Let us hold our political and economical leaders accountable. Let us crete such a system that will make them responsible for their indiscretion. That would be the right way to go, not hoping that someone will come and deliver it for us whatever that is we are lacking!! Hope you get the point and not try to "mock".

I don't think Mr. Regmi has any rights to judge King G's personality or question his religious beliefs. His mention of the King's Hindu beliefs of sacrificing animals to ward off evil and bring better fortune to his family is absolutely irrelevant to the subject matter. His concern of cruelty of animals raises serious questions, which should not be addressed to the King, but to the entire 80% of the hindu population of the Kingdom, which I suspect would include himself.

His petition is lame and disgruntled. It does not address the pain and sufferings of the people during the 12 years of democratically elected government's reign.
Garibjanata Posted on 11-Nov-02 12:40 PM

BUT WHO ARE THESE "LEADERS"? ARE YOU MENTIONING THESE TWOPENNY-HALFPENCE SCUMS AND MORONS LIKE GIRIJA,MARIJA, AS YR LEADERS ?

Hey vision, the writer of that petition is a female,if i am correct. i have never heard of a guy named Avantika
suman r dhakal Posted on 11-Nov-02 12:45 PM

aeiouji, does the signing of petition mean that you are against the king and his actions and you are for the "democracy" that ruled the nation for the last 12 years? From what I make of it, that is exactly what it means. So you seriously believe that we have practiced democracy for the last 12 years aeiouji?

The petition for the restoration of democracy states “Will the common Nepalese again fall into the grind of poverty, slavery and repression by the privileged few?”
Nepal has always fallen and has never risen up from the grind of the previleged few. There never was democracy in Nepal. So how can you RESTORE something that was never there to begin with. Majority of the people in Nepal were tiered of the so called “democracy”. Majority of the people now support the king. So if democracy is the will of the people, have we really lost it? Have we lost our basic liberties since the king took over? I do not think we have. At least now we have the corrupt politicans of the “democractic” past being brought to justice. Why didn’t that happen prior to king G’s and during Koirala and Deuba’s rule? For one simple reason. Because THEY were the criminals.

People who go around with these sort of petitions do not see the reality or they refuse to see it. Has the paper democracy worked in Nepal? I think we all know the answer to that question. All I want to say is that if you are for democracy, then go with the will of the majority. Don’t be too idealistic. Look at the reality around you and adjust your views.
SIWALIK Posted on 11-Nov-02 12:50 PM

Garibajanata: Would you tell me what is the rational thing to do? Accept whatever comes my way meekly? Is that the "rational" thing to do?

And no, none of the people you mention are my leaders. I am not even affiliated with any political parties or movements. My affiilation is only to Nepal. But I want to know what is your "rational" action that is suitable for all gariba janatas. I believe we need to restore faith in democracy in matter how long it will take. Some individuals willing to sacrifice may start some change in our perception...

to you ...

Hey Garibjanata, I have never heard of a guy or a girl named Avantika. But regardless, I truely suspect she/he belongs to the maoist organisation. I have no desire to sign such petition and urge others to think twice before signing it.

Vision,

If you search Google, you will find 25 pages with her full name.
She seems to be grand-daughter of Dilli Raman Regmi. Otherwise, who can get all the access to Dilli Raman Regmi's letters.

She studied in San Fransisco State University: 1997 batch. (Google says).

She wrote several articels in Kathmandu Post, against animal sacrifices.

Well, I just laugh on people who oppose animal sacrifices but don't miss eating the meat at the time of writing the same article. Its only whether its publicly or closed room sacrificing. I don't support these anti-animal sacrifice campaigners who eat meat and campaign. Do you know how animals are slaughtered in slaughter house?

They tow a cow with helmet. Then, give high electric voltage. Withing minute they
separate and in a minute or few, the break into pieces, before its heart stops, it
is cut into pieces. A sajhaity, even told explained me that in cow slaughter house,
a fellow cow is shown the slautering of another cow, as cow also have brain and
feelings, the watching cow generates some hormon out of scare, and it is taken
immediately for salughter before the hormon drains from its muscles. They say,
the hormon makes meat very red and shining.

Japanese eat fish when its head is crying for "Pani Pani" aap aap ...
Say "oishi oishi".

Its only a matter of whether you see it or not. Wow, I visited Hyundai heavy industries. It has 26000 employees, guess what its city size, family members of 26thousand employees. More than 100,000. The tour guide was joking that they consume 400cows every day. Can you campaign to stop such mercyless killings? Peoples usually run campaigns in developing countries, because its easy to ruin the poor peoples. It has nothing to resist the campaigns. Such campaigns are just Bullshit.
