Garibjanata wrote: "You all are EK # KO GADHAS." NOW, this is an interesting development. I say this because it has strong implications to our political future. On the thread about saving democracy through petition, when I asked Garibjanata for his input on what would the "rational" thing to do in the present situation, this was how he replied [above statement. ;)] Okay, let's assume that this statement is the attitude of majority nepali. What future does Nepal has? Is democracy the way to go? Let's see another statement from garibjanata: garibjanata: "It's a very well written Petition. Please guys and gals, go and help it gain momentum." Well, this statement places him as a supporter of return to democracy. But then look at another statement: "BUT WHO ARE THESE "LEADERS"? ARE YOU MENTIONING THESE TWO PENNY-HALFPENCE SCUMS AND MORONS LIKE GIRIJA,MARIJA, AS YR LEADERS ? ALL YR GUFFS SOUND TOO QUIXOTIC FOR ME, YAAR! PLEASE BE MORE PRACTICAL IN YOUR THINKING, jyada idealistic hunu hunna ni, irrational suchu jyadha hunu hunna kya, siwalik dai/bha/didi/bahini." It seems to suggest there is no room for democracy since the leaders are all worthless. Well, inconsistency aside, if the majority of Nepali "garibjanatas" are happy and satisfied with king's rule, is it worth fighting for democracy in their name? Further, what does it say about the struggle that is ahead? How hard would it be to convince the skeptics that democracy is the only way?
