With much encouragement and appreciation of "Simple Feelings" from the sajha community, I am posting here the first poem I wrote at the age of 9 while in Thailand. It has been published at a few places. :) "Smile" Smile a while, poor little flower, Although in life, one has to suffer, Smile is sweet and not sour, Though short, joy and love it does offer. Life is not a bed of roses, I know, But smile we must to make it sweet, For all the wise men have taught us so, Smile we must share until our hearts forget to beat. Smile is love, smile is hope, my friend, Smile to all quarrels puts an end, Sure, our world is poor and weak, So smile but smile is what we must seek. In peace.

Simple Gal... As always beautiful! The mind of a child explores beyond adult limitations! Your poem brings to mind one of my student's (7yrs old) poem which was published in our school news letter... SILENCE Silence Is like a waterfall Rolling into your ear A beautiful music. Silence Is understanding What joy is The world around you. Silence Is peaceful And replenishes your mind Takes out the rotten things. Silence Answers all questions But gives Even more. Silence Stops all time To give you A peaceful moment. Full of wonder And questions Too big To be known. And this poem.... touches my heart, hope it does yours (Sajhaites) too!

Great Poem Simplegal. This brightened a gloomy day. It seems that your mind operates on simple matters very beautifully and elegantly. I should unearth others works of yours, and so that it may bring out more smiles. -:) Keep up the work of making us smile at the pleasures and appreciate the greatness of life! Actually, to think of it, you should try to become a inspirational Guru. Baru tyesmai PHD garera ,institute kholya hundaina? :). "SimpeGal's Simple Joys of Life " Institute. Sitaraji, Nice work from a child. Actually, aren't the ones who come up with brillant ideas the ones with the childlike curiosities? The silence of the poem does touch the heart upon which, then, there is no more silence.:).

Thanks everyone for your kind words! Sitara, The child is indeed gifted to feel the vicissitudes of silence. Please give him/her my commendations and sincerest encouragement to pursue his/her writings!! As my dear daddy says, "Simplicity is Beauty." And the simple things that have emerged in the poem you posted are a rarity. In peace.

SGal... Thank you! You were indeed a gifted child. From my own experience of working with those who stand out (in anyway....out of "norm"), such children do have to face greater trials and tribulations in their everyday life. As always, I wish you my positive energy!
