If the Indian government really wanted to hand all these Maoist terrorists to the authority in Nepal, they could have done so long time ago. It’s a known fact that the top leaders like Baburam, Prachanda and Mehara are all living in India. If Bush can attack Afghanstan because it harbored terrorists that they were looking after, then why can’t the Nepali government or the UN put pressure on India to hand back the terrorists? They handover the little guys, why not the leaders? If India is with US on this “smoking out of terrorists world wide” why isn’t it with Nepal? The Maoist insurgency may seem like it’s only Nepal’s problem, but it could be other’s problem as well. Our govt. is also to be blamed as well. Why can’t we take aggressive stand against India on this issue? If India does not want to help us then the least they could do is let our army into the country to search for the terrorists. And if they don’t want this either then I have to say that they support the Maoists. If Nepal can’t do it alone, then our government should appeal to the UN. Our government also needs to take an aggressive stand on the refugee problem as well or else it will never be solved. I have nothing against individual Indians, but I do despise their government. Their policy on Nepal is what makes Nepali hate Indians. Just like the US is hated around the world for their foreign policy. India may consider Nepal to be a small fry but if it continues with its policy, we can prove to be a great problem for India.

1. Ask Makune and Girija to find out where the Maoists are hiding. Don't they keep meeting with them somewhere in Bihar? So our leadership does know where the Maoists are. Maybe they can pass that info to the Interpol and local security authority in India. 2. Also, ask our own Nepali citizens not to engage in campaign against our own Army. That gives more power to the Maoists. 3. Ask our own political leadership in the country to shape up. The same goes for the King. 4. Then ask India to help us out.

Adding to what wy had to say, India is Big Democratic nation. So, it is not that easy to root out dessent without getting court order and things like that. Also, it is so vast that Government of India might not know where abouts of these Maoists leaders as you think. If Indian Government knew everything and they can do everything then why can't they solve all the problems in India. It is a headache for them too.... Do you know that Hisila Yami (BRB's wife) was/is here in US and US could not arrest them? Though US recognizes Maoists as terrorists? This is kind of side effect of democracy. - iti

India le ssadhai dukha dincha.. why can't our ambassador to delhi go file a protest letter at the ministry of foreign affairs there saying that either you hand us "some people" or we'll reduce the number of mission staff.
