Does the IRS owe you money?
The Internal Revenue Service is looking for more than 1,650 Massachusetts taxpayers who are owed more than $1.4 million in undelivered federal tax refund checks. We have the list of those taxpayers in alphabetical order by last name and by town. To find out if the feds have some of your money, click on the first letter of your last name below. To search by town, use the drop-down menu.
Our list contains names and towns only. If your name is listed, visit the IRS Refund Website to find out how much you are owed and how to claim it. You'll need your Social Security number, filing status (such as single or filing jointly), and the amount of the refund shown on your 2001 federal tax return.
The IRS Website is available until Dec. 1; after that, you'll have to call the Refund Hotline at 1-800-829-1954. If you don't have Internet access and know you are owed a refund, call the IRS toll-free assistance line at 1-800-829-1040.
