Wagle arrested by CIAA

KATHMANDU, Nov 20 – Former minister for Water Resources and a senior leader of the Nepali Congress (Democratic), Chiranjivi Wagle, has been taken into police custody following marathon questioning by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
Wagle had been under investigation on allegations for amassing property beyond his source of income and has appeared before the commission several times over the past few months. His son, Devendra Wagle too has been accused of amassing wealth and property by abusing his father’s position.
Both Chiranjivi and Devendra Wagle had appeared before the Commission for question on Wednesday. The two men were questioned for well over five hours at its offices in Kathmandu.
Former Minister Wagle was then taken into police custody at around 7.20 p.m. for further investigation. But his son was allowed to go.
Formal charges against former minister Wagle is not clear as CIAA has not officially commented on it. However, sources said huge disparity was seen between former minister’s property and the declaration of his income and its sources.
Wagle is the third member of the Nepali Congress (D) to be arrested by the CIAA on allegations of corruption and abuse of authority. Two other former ministers, Khum Bahadur Khadka and Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta were detain by police late last month and still remain in custody. (rk)

Kewl...I just hope this time his Jail yatra wont be written as "Sishu Prajatantra ko Rkhsya ko Lagi jail basnu bha ko" in our great history....Who knows haina..

Wagle's resignation was good a few weeks ago.
Wagle's now being in jail -- after bring grilled by the CIAA for several days -- is
better.

Kewl,
Wagle dai will scream now "yo prajatantra masne sadayantra ho". CIAA calls RK mainali and UML says, "yo aayog purbagraha le pidit chha"....CIAA calls khum bdr. and gupta sir, Deuba says, "yo pakshyapat purna karbahi ho".....CIAA calls sujata, GPK says, "prajatantra sankat ma chha......"

Demagogue democratic guys, in Nepal, really dampen economical and political future at stake. I am worried not because CIAA is active now and arrested people like Khadka, Gupta and Wagle, and will many others in coming days, who deserves be ostracized but because present government may opt to gain popularity with such deeds rather than establishing peace and holding election as early as possible.
Kukur le ghiche ko jasto ghiche pachi……….

I fully agree with Shiva Shiva. I wonder why GRJ's case has not taken full speed. I beleive, GRJ was question by CIAA sometime last month.
However, we have to remembder that GRJ was/is Ganendra's puppet. He may just go free!!or even become a minister.

Here is some more list for CIA
1) Govinda Raj Joshi : when he was minister of education, by appointing Dr. Tritha Khania as director of Primary Education Project millions of dollar jhuwam!!
2) Bijaya Kumar Gachedar: When he was the minister of Communication, Hundred of million of dollar jhuwam in NTC projects.
3) Bal Bahadur KC : Parkhal Mantri ghus ko bhar chimek ko srimati mathi chadna jane diusai. Million of dollar jhuwam while he was the minister of Avaiation.
4) Girija P Koirala : Lauda air ghotala.
5) Bamadev Goutam : Ratarat malamal by letting the export of gold while he was home minister.
6) Madhav Kumar Nepal : How can he build such a beatuiful banglow in Koteswor with the salary of Nasu of Nepal bank Ltd??
