I got this by email and promptly learned humility. I got only one right answer. Can anyone do better? WITHOUT cheating and checking the Web? Passing requires 4 correct answers.

1) How long did the Hundred Years War last?

2) Which country makes Panama hats?

3) From which animal do we get catgut?

4) In which month do Russians celebrate the October Revolution?

5) What is a camel's hair brush made of?

6) The Canary Islands in the Pacific are named after what animal?

7) What was King George VI's first name?

8) What color is a purple finch?

9) Where are Chinese gooseberries from?

Yikes, this was supposed to be called "World's Easiest Quiz (Not)" but my computer misbehaved on me. "World," eh? (?????)
Poonte Posted on 20-Nov-02 11:52 AM

I think I have the answers for 4 of them...just pass? What are the answers, anyway?
sally Posted on 20-Nov-02 11:55 AM

Tell me what you think the answers are, and I'll reveal the secret. Four of them, eh? A tip of the topi to you, Poonte-Ji ... IF you're right and didn't cheat!!!
Poonte Posted on 20-Nov-02 12:03 PM

sally, I would have come up with all ten if I had cheated!

1. 400+ years?
2. Philippnes/malaysia?
4. May
9. Canada?

But then again, I am not at all sure about these four too--just wild guesses :)

> 1) How long did the Hundred Years War last?

Do you want answer in light years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds or milliseconds? :-)
sally Posted on 20-Nov-02 12:09 PM

Oops, big Alu for ya!

I thought May for number 4, too.

I only got number 9, and my hint on that is: the fruit is common in stores, with a name that gives away its origin; it was renamed for marketing purposes because "Chinese gooseberry" doesn't sound too yummy.
sally Posted on 20-Nov-02 12:11 PM

Waaaaah I was writing that to Poonte and Suna came along and cheated and spoiled the fun :-(

Poonte and Najar get the prizes for Honest Response.
Najar gets the prize for most logical guess ("no need for hairbrush").
Suna Posted on 20-Nov-02 12:12 PM

awwwwwwww I'm sorry.
Really
when everything else is falling apart, I thought hey! so what if I suck at my courses, maybe I could score some here with Ms. Sally :).
sally Posted on 20-Nov-02 12:18 PM

You're a baaaaaaaad girl.

Wap wap wap with a wet squirrel's fur brush. And it's nothing but Chinese Gooseberries for dinner tonight for you, young lady.
