Are there any readers out there whose father's were in the Gurkhas? what do you think about the whole Gurkha image i.e, brave warrior, fighting for god, queen and country (Britain). With British army downsizing, many ex-Gurkhas have found jobs as security guards, or as members of elite task forces....do you think this is continuing the whole 'gurkha connection'?

in hong kong alone, there are around 60,000 nepali permanent residents, all (supposedly) former gurkhas and their offsprings. virtually all of them claimed residence during the transition period.
you could visit the website www.gurkhas.com for more info. the webmaster is planning to put up a forum on gurkha issues just like the one here in sajha.
