Dear all, here's something interesting. Thanks Surendra dai for the release. [We KFA people know what you want:-)] FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL How does the idea of spending your evenings with French Women sound to you? Not bad !!! Worry not, because from 28 Nov to 1 Dec 2002, Alliance France & Kathmandu Film Archive, with the support of the Embassy of France and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing a Festival of French feature films with the theme "WOMEN". Unlike the Bollywood and Kollywood portrayal of women (heroin) of the film as singing and dancing lass of 18 to the crooning of the male species, the portrayal of women is French movies of this selection has a lot to offer. Like the independent Pierrette's tribulations and bittersweet experience in the movie "La Dilettante" or the portrayal of the situation of modern women in the movie "Venus Beaute", the movies shades a spectrum of hues on women and their association in the modern society. Total of 8 movies will be screened during those 4 days of the festival, most of them from the genre of late 90s. The Alliance France (AF) has been organizing regular programs to promote the social, cultural and academic ties between France and Nepal. It has organized a similar Film Festival in the year 2000, and the Nepali viewers filled the halls to watch the movies. AF has also brought artists from the EU to Nepal for art, shows and cultural exchange programs. Kathmandu film Archive has been active from September 2000 to contribute to the cultural vibrancy and vitality of Kathmandu by screening finest moves on a regular basis. It has organized more than 2 dozen film-shows, ranging from the Russian Films to Chinese to Japanese to American. The French Movie Festival is open to all. The organizers hope that this will add some exciting variety to the evening life of Kathmandu, which has not seen any interesting events of cross-cultural experience for a while now. Please remember to mark these date and times in your calendar: Friday, 29th November 5.00 PM La Vie Rêvée des Anges by Eric Zonca – 1998 (1h53) Saturday, 30th November 1.00 PM Vénus Beauté ( Institut) by Tonie Marshall – 1999 (1h45) 3.15 PM Le Bleu des Villes by Stéphane Brizé – 1999 (1h45) 5.15 PM La Dilettante by Pascal Thomas – 1998 (1h58) Sunday, 1st December 1.00 PM Haut les Coeurs by Solveig Anspach – 1999 (1h50) 3.15 PM Rien à Faire by Manon Vernoux – 1999 (1h45) 5.15 PM Love Me by Laetitia Masson – 2000 (1h45)

Batauli, "Bidambana?" Hmmm . . . that's interesting And all this time, I was thinking, it was more like -- to use a rather crude motor-vehicle ko analogy -- choosing among a BMW, a Mercedez and a Toyota Lexus :-) oohi "one of the promoters of the French Movie Festival" ashu ktm, nepal
