Hi all, Just a short note to inform my all Sajha friends, well-wishers, detractors and enemies that I, a regular poster, shall be taking a break from sajha till the middle of January 2003. I've had a really wonderful time on sajha so far, and I fully expect to be back here -- with more energy, more ideas and, as they say on television, with more "dhamaka" in January. :-) I am taking a break because in addition to a managing full-time job that requires me to deal heavily with private-sector businesses in Kathmandu, I am taking two courses at institutes in Kathmandu. Since the finals of those courses are coming up, I would like to devote my "sajha time" to acing those tests. Moreover, between now and January, I shall be: a) Promoting, with other friends, the French Move Festival this week. [already discussed on sajha] b) Doing a presentation on "How to write application essays" at GAA on next Sunday, along with the help of two sajha friends. [already discussed on sajha] c) Running a Business Discussion Forum, like the ones we did earlier, on December 5th at Hotel Radisson. Our speaker this time would be: Mr. Raghu Shah, CEO of Himalayan Telecommerce, one of the two international call-centers Nepal. [Already discussed on sajha.] c) Putting final touches to an article for a semi-academic journal. d) Assisting two Nepali documentary film-makers (friends, both) to put subtitles in English in their films. e) And, after all that, finally, spending some time hiking and camping (my favorite activities) in parts of Australia with a friend, before coming back to Nepal to plunge headlong into the year 2003. There remains, alas, ONLY 24 hours in a day!! Have a great time, everyone. A very Happy New Year to you all, and I'll see you guys in January. Thanks to Hahooguru's almost two-month ko absence that prompted me to think along the lines of taking a break. Again, thanks everyone for being what you are on sajha. oohi ashu "signing off for now" ktm, nepal

The crocodile hunter ... crikey, mate!!! My kid's favorite show! Who's tops on your list, Steve or Jeff Corwin? Did anyone else catch the Jeff Corwin Adventure in Nepal? Turned on the TV the other night--a certain munchkin did extra homework just for the privilege of watching his Favorite Role Models--and there was Jeff in Chitwan, sticking his fool hand into a pile of leaves to pull out a krait. So I'm wincing and saying to my kid, "um, if we go visit hajuraama and hajurbua sometime, DON'T pretend to be Jeff Corwin!!!" Wonder how much anti-venin those guys carry with them.

Gee, maybe I should take a break too. Except I can't go anywhere. I know ... I'll take a break right here! I'll try not doing laundry or dishes or picking up or ... wait a minute, I ALWAYS try to avoid that ... What if a lazy bum takes a vacation? Do they (we) spend it vacuuming? Suna: Disneyland? Disneyworld? The Jeff and Steve Theme Park? (Hey kids, step right up and feel what it's like to get squeezed by a python! Get your own snake tattoo on your upper arm! Ride your very own crocodile! Whoops, there went the arm, sorry, no refund on the snake tattoo ...)

I know exactly why Ashu is going to Australia. He got some inquisitive mind. He is going to Australia to find out where exactly is that beach in the photo posted a while ago by Paramendra. Now, Dilasha wants to beat Ashu in the Amazing Race (is it on NBC?). Peace!

NK on Ashu (the old rival... hehhe.... is it a revenge???) : He is going to Australia to find out where exactly is that beach in the photo posted a while ago by Paramendra. --hehhehe... it makes some sense. Humor... and what not!!! I liked such batting. Straight and clear. I thought Biswo was going to raise whether that beach in the photo really exists.... Now, Ashu is behind Paramendra? Paschim will send emails to confirm whether Ashu really went to Australia ? As we heard NASA is going to publish a book to prove that Armstrong really went to Moon Travel, because there were many peoples claimed that it was a HOAX travel. Similarly, we have here Paschim, who will find some reliable person in Australia to confirm that Ashu really went to Asutralia. But, not yet sure, whether Ashu will finally refuse of going to Australia. My suggestion is to make things transparent as early as possible, so that Biswo ji will not be under stress. Because by Mid Jan. Biswo will raise "was Ashu really in Australia?". So, Ashu if you are aborting the trip, inform us ASAP, but, I am only wondering whether Biswo will ask another question "Ashu in fact never had real plan of going to Australia, but, white lied here to seek RENT from the lie"I am going Australia"". Ashu, K B 4 6? Have fun. All comments were for Hahoo!Funs, no personal flames intended. HG

Sitara, thats a good idea. Infact, I have a first cousin in Australia. Let me first e-mail him and before that i need to draft a question, get answers and then get approved and then after I will start the thread. But before all that i guess, we need to wait till Ashutosh takes off for Australia---when did he say he was leavin'? Let me go back and check--short term memories, deteriorating memory cells :< Tara by middle of Jan, i will have started that thread with the exact replica of one of the three topics you suggested, is that plausible?

Now now children. All this ragging at poor Ashu's expense, and him not even around to counter it. Oh wait ... I've got a flash here, in my personal instant message box, from ... yes, it's from Ashu!!! He says ... yes, he IS writing a book on "Camping with French Women," and he's writing it in Chinese. For the Harvard Press. Several friends are also making a documentary on him writing the book in Chinese on camping with French women, with special attention to the use of the didgiridoo. There will later be a semi-academic article on the friends making the documentary, after he puts the finishing touches on the French women. Who may or may not include Sitara. She being the only known sajhapure to speak in French on this site, and having expressed a particular interest in waves washing away all evidence. Unless it's all a croc. In conclusion, he wants to add, "oooo-weeee!!!" Don't blame me. I'm just passing on the word.

Where is Biswo and Paschim when we need them? Die Ashu really write to you and even IF he did, did he say that he "is writing a book on Camping with French Women?" BTW Did those women refused to complete a Ph.D. Can you FIND that out my dear Sally?? We want to verify the truth, nothing but the truth!!! We are here for debate, discussion and excercise in democracy. Mind you we are not here to talk about phattya kattu!

Oh he did, he did. But I fear he may have plagiarized some of it. I believe the women are writing a PhD on Ashu. They haven't had time to refuse to complete it yet. But I'm sure he'll provide plenty of opportunity for debate.

Hey girls, I am still here. kasto laaj nabhayekaa keti haru. Looks like I am watching "The Sweetest Thing" or "There is something about Mary":-) -- Re proof, I hope he keeps air ticket, stamped passport, and some photos (with negative , if available) as a proof. That would make everything very easy to verify for all of us.But what if he comes back, and writes, "fellas, gotta tell you news. Been invited to be MP of bataase parliament that king Gyanendra is gonna 'construct' to fill void (of course, all MPs are nominated). For this,I refused to complete PhD in Australian National University." Then NK le gaali garepani ek round question ta sodhihalnu parlaa. My Instant Messanger was also blinking!! Secret Agent "sukumaar" secretly left a note for me. And it was about Ashu. Secret Agent 006 says, Ashu is lying about where he is going re. He told everyone he is going to Aussie land, but the fact is, he is going to India, Banaras re. He even mentioned about his going to India in one of his "anek" postings few weeks ago re. Anyway, searching Ashus old Postings in sajha will be worst than searching for "Britney". According to 006, He is going to Banaras to do Phd re. The topics of the Phd will be "How to get married?" re. Infact, he was giving the hint about this a long time ago, but nobody really understood him re. Remember his visiting some "lingerie" store, too much interest in "women", specially "French". Even in the "above" posting, he is saying he is going to be back with "dhamaka". Of course there will be dhamaka in wedding ceromony. Dr. Jhirkhe analyzed Ashu's "above" posting and came up with some observation that indicates he is talking about marriage. 1. of course dhamaka, mentioned above 2. Ashu says, "...managing full-time job that requires me to deal heavily with private-sector", Marriage is a full time job, unless one wants to get "jagalta bhutlyaaing" by his wife, while considering it a part time. And look at the word "Private" there... whats so private about that private sector? Dr. Jhirke wonders.... 3. He's gonna devote his sajha time to acing those tests?? Oh, talking about Honeymoon. And of course, it is time to acing those "tests", you know what i mean. 4. Movie festival this week? that means he knows the girl and they've been going out together for quite some time. That is what movie festival is all about. you know, pre marriage dating. 5. December 5th at hotel Radission??? that means, his wedding is before dec 5th, some time around the first week of december. Haven't he found any better place than radission hotel for Honeymoon??? 6. We know everything about hiking, biking, camping .... Do i have to mention that???:) So according to 006 ,once again, people in sajhapur don't get surprised if Ashu comes back and tries to convince everyone by publishing his pic's in "aussie land", holding FOSTER beer in his hand, or even hanging out with "steve" or chilling out with "kylie Minoge" or running naked around survivors island. These Photoshops will do anything for you. I hope some girls in Sajhapur haven't bought the ticket to "aussie land" yet... Ashu... Aussiland main banaras ka paan khayelwa???
