Traditionally, communists movement all over the world have been against higher education.It is a movement by leaders of the labourers (smart ones) who try to keep everybody equal by keeping them uneducated.
People would not have high demands as they are ignorant in such instance.Though they claim that they provide basic food and health to all, experience from previous communists states suggest that it is preferential. For example, Russia today has one of the highest prevalence of drug resistant TB in Europe which reflects on its poor treatment strategy of the past.
It is a tragedy for Nepal that Baburam, Prachanda and co. seem to be following similar strategy in Nepal- closing the schools, now bombing TU and our poor country can ill afford it. Even Al-Qaida or other terrorists have not attacked schools.
I am sure they will start attacking hospitals also one day (they will have some excuse).
If this trend continues, we will be in dark ages very soon.

The systematic attacks on Tribhuvan University and other educational institutions proves that the Nepali Moaists are an evil force, simple and pure. By denying higher education to the population, they hope to prevent the emergence of a critical thinking public that will ask them tough questions...it is one reason why most of their troops are now under SLC 14-18 year-olds.
This is exactly what happened in Cambodia under the Pol Pot, they exterminated every professional, teachers, journalists, students, intellectuals who could ask them rational and logical questions. So the sustained attacks on the educational institutions is not a random act of violence, it comes from systematic totalitarian ideology that sees any intellectual effort as reactionary.
There is no excuse for destroying the airports, power plants, roads, bridges, hospitals, communication infrastructue...it pushes the country back to the stone age! Is that what they want? Practice primitive communism? But if that is the case then Baburam, Prachanda and the rest of the gang need to bring their own children from the expensive schools in England and India and put them in the villages of Ramechap and Rolpa!
But by destroying education, they wipe out all hope for the future. Could some of the Maoist sympathizers convince the Maoist leaders to spare the schools at least?

You can not teach rule to Maoists, you will be stamped as REACTIONARY element. RULE of MAOISTS is dismantle everything, make everything zero, so that its really equal.
There used to be a Maodai who used to enjoy life in Semi-industrialized Asian: might be korea, might Singapore, might be Malasia or it might be Israel, and said that Maoists are not like PolPot, and he made such claims in 1997-1998. If he is reading, I wish him to defend his earlier statements.....

I feel that Baburam Bhattarai's PhD was a waste of time given his present day actions.He should burn his PhD thesis.
He is not involved in research and academic activities anymore.He should also not use the prefix 'Dr' anymore.
Sorry, I am being personal, but that is my thinking.I hope I am not pursued and targetted for saying this as I believe Baburam still believes in democracy and free speech.

Using Ph.D. earned title in front of his name, he was, is and will continue to seek rents. In villages , towns and half educated mass, "Dr. " in front of name makes you great irrespective of your contribution in research in that particular profession. BRB will continue to enjoy the RENT from that "Dr." title in illeterate. If he stops using "Dr." infront of his name, he will be just one Maoist, who burns passengers in buses...

I am a product of TU, not US University, not Australian University, not Indian University, and any other. I am sad to hear the bomb blast in TU.
