I have having my winter vacation from dec 13 and I do npt have anything to do...I mean no work and nothing to do. Can you recommend me for something constructive to do for winter???

Vail... or Colorado in general... just take some time off from everything and be one with nature.. no rollercoasters.. no highrises.. no christmas frenzy..

In colorado you can't do much in winter! :-(
Every where you go there is ice. Mountains paths are covered with snow so my car can't go to the ski resort.
May be winter trekking and ice fishing is recommended for lunatics but I like to keep warm. Had it been summer I could have gone white water rafting.
Go to the seven falls to see the icy fall? Can't stay out long in the winter! :-(

poonte dai..by the way. those sujabs really suit me very well....except euta nyc ma jaane chutecha :P..aroo ta tyai ho..deen bhar computer lab ma basne, sajha ma post garne..eheh to all the OCD's related sajha posters..yor doomsday is approaching re kya ;) ehehehe........ahile dekhi haat chilai racha........typing speed ni ali ali ghatna thali racha....!! this calls for a major post time :) eheh

Okie, mero pyaro bhai oys ko chitta dukheko karaan some amendments. The above suggestion i made was explicitly for Oys_chill NOT lonely. That was an error.
However, here are some suggestions for lonely, dherai paisa naparne ramailo :)
1. Read some good books, this is the time you could be enjoying reading--a fiction, a novel, travel narrative, essays, non-fictions, autobiographies whatever pleases you. There was also a thread on favorite authors on sajha, don't know the link, but you can search for it if you are interested. In addition to books you can also explore book reviews, poltical debates, discussions, news events, analysis so on and so forth. Remember all this temptation to read non-academic stuff while you had to do homeworks, so why not try now?
2. Go out to a blockbuster (or whatever applicable) and rent out your favorite movies, that you been wanting to watch for so long. Aek packet makai pani kine jhanai ramailo--movie herdai makaai khaadain. If your friends are around have them over.
3. Try cooking--not just dal/bhats but other recipes--nepali as well as non-nepali, you might enjoy the culinary art, that you never thought you would. Again if your friends area around invite them over. Natra dinner followed by movies gare pani bhayo.
4. Touch base with friends. From my experience when at school, i would have a challenging time keeping in touch with old friends. If you are on the same boat, e-mail friends back in Nepal or friends here that you have not had a chance to write in so long. Or make phone calls to them and reminisce your old days.There is a different charm in hearing/writing to old-buddies. Likewise, write/call to your family/cousins etc.
5. Depending on where you are , try out outdoor adventures. If you are in south tira go out to the beaches, cycling, walking, jugging etc. If you are in northern or mid-west go skiing, or try out if you have not done in the past. Warmer regions tira bhaye you can also go hiking, camping etc. Go for long serene walks now that you have time and don't need to rush back to finish you calc II HW. Or go for drives, fav geet sundai may be wari jamuna parai jamuna, or parelima ...
6. Go to seasonal plays such as nutcracker, or even movies, musicals, and other plays for that matter. Listen to good musics nepali, angrezi, french whatever..
7. Explore your closeby places if they are of interest to you, and if you have not had already.
8. Sleep in, remember having to wake up for your 8:00am classes, don't you want to make up for all that ordeal?
9. Volunteer at a local hospital, community orgs, church, kids shelter, or the organization of your choice. Your contribution do matters there.
10. Meet with friends/ acquaintances still in town for lunch, tea, beer, dinner whatever applies best and hang out.
11. If you end up doing any of the above or all of the above, come back and post on sajha and let us know how it went.
If none of the above appeals you, simply post different topics on sajha and interact with the posters.

Dherai jimma le thichiyera jhanai sano hunchhu kyare aba ma ta :p Hoina hoina...aauna mattrai (invitation to exclusive group of people only re kya ajha!) brahmanda nai nachaidimla...brahma le nai tauko ma haat rakhne gari! Koi chha??????????

Go to Museums, Public libraries, watch some independently produced movies, catch up on pleasure reading, paint, write, cook!
Enjoy nature and spend some time on reflections for the New Year!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I could not log in for last 4-5 days but now I am able to khai ke bha ho kunni yo website ma...just did not take my password..la.
But I am not into reading books or stuff..sorry for that. I am now watching some movies and spending time mostly sleeping, though I hate sleeping and wasting my time like that..
Other things seem ok..I am planning to visit a friend in detroit, if possible but not sure about that. Wanted to come to Boston but things didnot turn out the way I wanted...poor me...
I also tried to find some work but didnot get. Now as 33% of my holiday is already over, I don't think I will travel far but try to utilize my time so that I won't be stressed for my tough MBA classes resuming in 2 weeks time.
I normally use my phone excessively, and call most of my friends on nights and weekends. Utilizing sprints night and weekend free kya.
Back in Nepal I was into lot of volunteer work and i know how good you feel when you are a part of it...But i am not so used to this area for that..sorry can't do that now....
I am now planning to write something which would be good for me...and come regularly to sajha ...if possible and if i am on the net....
and many more..but will post on what I did later la..

Aaafu chai pure movie buff kyaa!!
I think I follow every points on your list when it comes to movies.
1. I read movie reviews.
2. Blockbuster ko ta ke kura garai bho, hehe.. Gayo ki jwai aa jasto garcha!!
Same with Hoyets Cinema... Sappai Usher harule chincha!! Bho ta?
3. Cooking chai garnu hunthyo, tara ke garnu, movie chutcha!!
4. I email all my friends everyday and ask them the same question. "yo, wanna go movie today?"
5. Outdoor adventure? walking to the mall, after all thats where the movie theater is. I also browse various movie theaters through out the city.
6. Play ke herai bho, when you can watch movie re kyaa... so no play, only movies.
7. Explore all the movie theaters close by, and get knowledge about the size of the screen, how big is theater, How good is theater, how much is the refreshment and so on.
8. Sleep in watching the late night movies on the TV... Lutu putu parera.. after all I don't have to wake up early kyaa.
9. Meet with friends in the movie theater.. Have lunch with them before the movie.. hangout...
10. Volunteer job? Jatti kaam gare ni haat laage sunne hune thaam ma ke ko volunteer job. hehe.. tyo ali bhayena -- free ma arka ko kaam garidiyera chet-baba-kaashi bhai saki.
11. Tyattika movie herera ni din raat saajha mai hunchu, kasari -- i don't know...
