After hearing what Mayor Bloomberg said and what TWU union chief is saying right now (live telecast is going on), it seems that Strike is apparent next week.

Mayor and the State has already sued the TWU for loss incurred in past because of this possible strike preparation and is preparing to sue them for anticipated losses in future. That was expected, but unlike in Gulinani era, TWU union seems to be strongly afixed in its resolution. Bloomy wasn't very understanding in the negotiations but TWU chief seems to be equally opposing.

I was surprised when TWU chief actually said, 'Mayor Bloomberg should shut up! He should come to the table instead of controlling the outcome from far.'

Both team are working on possible agreement, but I think there will be a strike. TWU will incurr a great amount of fine (a million dollar a day, 25 K per worker a day), but our daily life will be affected as well. All in all, it seems students won't have their finals next week. They will have choice either to appear for the test by private transportation or taxi-cabs or take a makeup exam in the future.
