Quite likely considering the state of the monarchy, the weakening government and the strenghthening Maoists.

Well, these times definitely demand utmost restraint from all Nepalis. Nepals' fragile democracy is at peril. But can't it be possible that the Crown Prince and everyone else was gunned down. How come Prince Gyanendra was safely away in Sauraha? And where was paras shah? Why was every sinlge person who was witness to the sight gunned down? If then, every single person was gunned down, who is to say that it was Crown Prince who started the massacre? The whole incident begs too many questions to be answer.

I hope there's a thorough enquiry in the days to come. Not the least the king-to-be Gyandra owes an explanation to the whole nation. And I sincerly hope the Prime Miniser, for once, takes the lead here instead trying to cover his butt.

We don't need Gyanendra as a king, and honestly.

We need at least a smart, and honest person who is not a father
of Paras Shah.

The prospect of Paras Shah as a future king is sadder news than
this news.

I agree. wonder how the Shah dynasty manages to produce all these phychos? Birendra (may his soul rest in peace) is perhaps the sanest of them all. King Mahendra was butcher himself.

We are capable of running our country ourselves. We don't want
slavery/fiefdom of crazy wacko Shaha guys like Paras. I would
rather prefer eldest daughter of Shruti as my future queen
than Gyanendra. We don't have to descriminate against ladies any
more. After all, our rulers have nothing to do , but to sign
what our government asks for.

We are free people. We need to have our say over who will become
our king in the future. What if Paras decides to merge Nepal
with India in future.

This is moment of sorrow, but don't let butchers take the regime
just because we are in sorrowful state now. We first want to
know who killed our kings and his family. Frankly, Dipendra
didn't have any violent record. He was rather considered a
nice guy. We have other people in royal family who had such
violent/pshycho record, and there is plenty of indication that
they are the one who are going to benefit from this situation
now.

King Birendra is the most fortunate Shah king after Prithvi
N Shaha, in that when he died, despite his weaknesses, he died
a death of a popular leader. We truly found a leader in him after
2046: the man who respected the constitution and was the most
democratic.
