Points to be noted: Tanka is an SLC graduate, and used to farm his family’s terraces. This year, the situation deteriorated after the army launched an operation, and he left even without harvesting the winter crop. He thinks the harvest would have been looted by the Maoists anyway, so there was no point staying. -- To Tanka shahi, though he might not read it. Its not only you bro., there are many who are leaving Nepal after they got afraid of Maoists. Some are leaving into india, and some are leaving USA, Australia, Canada and Europe, all of them have one thing in common that is all of them are afraid of Maoists. Though I might have highest academic degree, its not only to flee Nepal. I wish you all the way to safe place, and it is disappointing that today the safe place for us is not our mother land , but, PARAYA ko ghar. It has to be accepted. Keep up Bro. I wish I can also safely move to some other safer country for the rest of my life. What else can we do? Should we die in the name of dignity? No, we migrated from Africa little by little generation by generation... so there is nothing such a great pride to stick to a country or place that is not safe to live. What else you or me can do? Just keep on migrating. Its rule of nature. WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST. HG |

Updated version: Points to be noted: Tanka is an SLC graduate, and used to farm his family’s terraces. This year, the situation deteriorated after the army launched an operation, and he left even without harvesting the winter crop. He thinks the harvest would have been looted by the Maoists anyway, so there was no point staying. -- To Tanka shahi, though he might not read it. Its not only you bro., there are many Nepalis who are leaving Nepal after they got afraid of/threatening messages from (directly or indirectly ) Maoists. Some are leaving to india, and some others are leaving to USA, Australia, Canada and Europe, all of them have one thing in common that is all of them are afraid of Maoists. Though I might have highest academic degree, its not only you or me to flee Nepal and there are many many unaccounted "so called Nepalis" to flee. I am using "so called Nepalis" to mean what is there so great of being a Nepali? I am confused with being a "Nepali". I feel the Black Marketer Madwaris are more Nepalis than me, because they have better life, they are more safe even after they have two passports, and they have well booked air tickets. So there is nothing great being a Nepali, this is what I have understood in these 30+ years of my life. I wish you proceed all the way to a safe and better place to live, and it is disappointing that today the safe place for us is not the so called motherland , but, PARAYA ko ghar. It has to be accepted. Keep up Bro. Should we die in the name of dignity? No, we migrated from Africa (since monkey days) little by little generation by generation... so there is nothing such a great pride to stick to a country or a place that is not safe to live. What else you or me can do? Just keep on migrating. Its rule of nature. I wish I can also safely move to some other safer country for the rest of my life and get used to with the new place and call myself a habitant of that new place. It will take some time, but, its just matter of time. What else can we do? Don't die for nothing. Don't die in the name of cunning leaders like Prachanda and Baburam (just read how cunning his writings in these days). Don't get fall into the traps of Maoists. FYI, even royal nepal army will not really be interested in solving this Maoist problem for some years, because it has allowed them to nourish their malnutritioned top ranked officers for last 12years. Neither the corrupt UML or Neka leaders who had already shown what they are, will rescue you. Best way is to leave them behind and find a "RELATIVELY" safe and secured place. But, beware of Nepali Maoists who are roaming in India to exploit your weakness and might trap you to send you back to Nepal in the name of fighting by offering foods and grains to your family, the trick used by christian missonaries in spreading christianity, who exploit the poverty by offering foods and clothes and poison the christianity slowly........... This mechanism was used by Maoists also. ............ Just say NO to them. WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST. HG |

Folks, Once a time, I had heard a song by a group of people know as Akhil - All Nepalese National Free Students' Union (ANNFSU). The song was; "Basai Hidne ko Tatile Basne ko mman ruwaud chha, lakhau ko lagi ujad chha yo desh, muthi var lai ta shorga chha", it is the fact that is still bitter for all the Nepalese. It may be the cause of security, may be the cause of poverty, may be the cause of caste disrimination etc. There is nothing wrong to seek a safe place to live. God, India is the place where all Nepalese can enter and live safely. We thank to the Indian Government for letting Nepalese people enter in India. |
