What an interesting thought to begin the new year. Thinking of mortality, of one's or a loved one's imminent death. I was interested by the title of thread, so I came, but this is far more intersting than what I expected! Thank you, Gandalf! Are you Gandalf the Grey or Gandalf the White? :)

Gandalf ji Thank you for the article. Touching! BTW, I had written something on "Fate's Bride" so I was curious too! :)

SITARA jyu, yes that Fate's Bride in the title of my posting was meant to reference yours, hajur :) surya ji, I wouldn't dare commit an act of hubris declaring myself Gandalf the White. They say it takes a lot to move from Grey to White, not dissimilar to an evolving Pokemon, if you get the gist of that. :)

Astrologers, fate, and hororscope are everyday lexicon of our living. It is true if you hapen to live in Nepal and as well as in India. A lot of well-known writers and personalities chose not to say anything about it. It is a murky ground nobody wants to step in. At best the westerners, the proof-seeking class, might just give you a little knowing smile if you start talking about your horoscope if not branding you as a looney. When I saw that article in the NY Times the first thing came to my mind was wow she is brave! Not because she is looking at her supposed oncoming undeniable death right into the eyes, but because she had the guts to write about it including what her chart says. Let's not forget she is a famous author. Apparently she is not so much worried about what others might think.

Hehe Whine and Chij: you be vely phunny! Gandalf, hubris is the name of the game in this town! Some might say your chosen name - Galdalf - is itself a sign of hubris... but where names like Surya, Sitara, Bramhanda, Ruler, Czar abound, Gandalf - a wizen wizard with a pointy hat and long beard- fits well. Kaso? :)

Gandalf ji, Thanks for the refer. Made me remember my bitter experience, which terrified me for more than 10 years. Once the cat is out of the bag, it will do the harm no matter how deep or shallow. The shadow will always follow the form giving horrid disfigurement at times but you also don't want to succumb to fate with ease. Even till date, nightmares do haunt me but I've learnt to live with them and I've promised never to show my birth chart to any of the astrologers. Live & let live!
