What are the basis formalities to get an addmission in US college or university ? Than how difficult to get visa from US embassy in Kathmandu ?

I just visited Nepal during thw winter break last december......everything's going smooth in the visa procedure.......there's nothing to worry about if you are a new student coming into the US......but if you are returning to Nepal and deciding to come back to the united states then pay attention to these things:

YOUR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY SHOULD BE REGISTERED IN THE "SEVIS" SYSTEM........IT'S A NEW SYSTEM IN THE "INS" DEPARTMENT.......IF YOU NAME APPEARS IN THE LIST OF THAT SYSTEM THEN YOU WILL EASILY GET A RETURNING VISA.

that's all for now.

by the way.....anyone trying to apply for the united states for the first time.....GOOD LUCK...!!.......if you need additional info...then contact any of the sajhaites!!

Sajan,
if you are trying to apply for schools in US, you should take TOEFL and SAT. You should be able to get the application forms either from the website, or you can ask the school to mail them to you. Another good place to get the application forms is USEF (US Education foundation). The application form will tell you in detail about all the requirements. You will need a good personal statement. And also 3-4 recommendation letters.
First you have to decide which schools you are going to apply. Rule of thumb: apply to all three tiers of schools; competitive. moderatly competivtive and non-competitive schools. Also, apply to 10 or more schools so that you have a choice when you decide for which school you want to attend. And hopefully, you will have scholorships from a few schools too.
Pay attention to the application deadlines. Some schools have rolling deadlines. However, most top schools have their deadlines at the end of december or beginning of Janauary.
Good luck on your application process.

ugly duckling,

I am sorry I have to call you as above name though you are so beautiful because you have advised on very nice and realistic way. Many thanks for your suggestions.

Any way, would you please do not mind to advise me how is the scope there in US for those who are eager to conduct their further study in Tourism field ? Could you please advise me better colleges or universities for that. I will be also delighted if you will advise me the best city which will be better for Nepalese students. I prefer to be in a city where huge density of Nepalese people live.

Many thanks in advance for your kind co-operation in thi regards.

Sajan,

If you want any kind of information regarding coming to US. You can go to the USEF/NEPAL'S EDUCATIONAL ADVISING CENTER (EAC). There should be an advisor who gives advice to people who wants to come to US. I think, Present advisior's name is Santosh Singh. Here is the link :

Good Luck :)
