This message is for Suman Pradhan. I hope somebody in Nepal will let him know about this: Mr Pradhan, I was not only disappointed but enraged that your newspaper, the nation's largest selling English daily, did not have even a line on the tragedy that shook the entire nation. I was hoping to see an editorial on that but there were other far more "important" issues. Is this journalism? If you can not draft a paragraph on something that has left all of us shocked and saddened, then are you fit to call yourself the editor of the Kathmandu Post? And Mr. Akhilesh jyu, you are studying journalism in the US. You tell me, what kind of journalism is that? Shouldn't they have had at least a line on the tragedy? EXPLANATIONS SOUGHT! Enraged, Trailokya

We've had two special editorials on the issue, and you tell me we haven't published anything? Aside from the Nepali Times, we are the only newspaper which is writing what actually happened and taking names, and you think we are not doing anything? We also came out with a special edition (the first time in our history) Saturday evening. And still that is nothing? All our editions since yesterday have nothing but reports about this tragedy. I.m sure someone who is in Kathmandu and visits this site can verify that. I am sorry that net users couldn't read our special editions. Besides, you got me wrong. I am NOT the editor of the Post. cheers suman

I agree with you 100 %. I searched both Kathmandu Post and the Nepalnews.com site for any informative word. It was more than 24 hours before a single word on the tragedy reached the internet. I think there is no such thing a journalism in Nepal. There are a few writers who post stories of minor quality. What can you expect from a place that has its schools closed more than there are class days. Nepal is in serious trouble and no one is listening or willing to take responsiblity as evidenced by the reply you got from the editor.

Dear Suman ji, Sorry about the misunderstanding. But, when I read the net-edition of The Kathmandu Post last night, I couldn't find any thing on the tragedy. So, I take back my words, and apologize for being rather harsh. It wasn't meant to personally attack someone but it was all in a whim. Anyway, will it be possible for us, who are not in Nepal to read those editorial pieces? To rephrase it, will it be updated in the Nepalnews.Com's site anytime soon? And, sorry again. I was under the impression that you are the editor of the post. Trailokya

Trailokya ji, That's alright. At least your comments have made us take note of the short-comings of our website. we will try to rectify those as soon as possible. We will also try to put our special editorials on www.kantipuronline.com, which is our official website. I can understand your anger and confusion. Akhilesh just sent us a story about Nepalis in the US and how they were all groping in the dark in the absence of information about the tragedy. you can read that peice on our website too. cheers suman

PLEASE CIRCULATE. This is an urgent message from a group of concerned Nepalis in Boston. To avoid further erosion of public confidence and to uphold every Nepali citizen's constitutional right to information of public importance, we strongly urge the concerned authorities in Nepal to refrain from cremating Dhirendra Shah's body before the official post-mortem reports of all the deceased members of the royal family are released to the public. An impartial and trustworthy investigation by the official probe panel depends upon preservation of all evidence, even if religion dictates otherwise. Cremating the other bodies in such haste was a mistake, as it gave a perception of evidence destruction. In a situation of national emergency, citizen's trust is paramount, and cannot be gained through news blackouts and curfews. Concerned Nepalis in Boston http://www.nepalchintan.org
