Prince Gyanendra's words and actions are crucial at this time of instability and uncertainty. Handled with tact and honesty, he may very well usher in a restoration of normalcy and a recognition by the people as a genuine king.
The fact that Prince Gyanendra's wife, Princess Komal, is among the shot somewhat vindicates him as a possible conspirator. However, providing incredulous explanation of the incidence, as he has just done, can further lead to more confusion, and bode the termination of the monarchy in Nepal, sooner than later.
We need Prince Gyanendra to be sincere, respectful and mindful of the sentiments of the Nepali people at this time. Hope his words and actions does not make anything worse than it already is.
