I will be mailing for the EAD this monday. As per the international office's recommendation, I have submitted mine and the sponsor's personal statement along with a bank document to explain the severity of my financial hardship. Any last minute suggestions? Also, those of you who had applied for it and received one, could you share your experience on the issue? Like what kind of documents submitted, the timeline you received your EAD. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this might be of help but if you are applying for EAD while on F-1 for economic hardhsip and you have transferred schools in the past, I suggest you clearly spell out in your affidavit that the reason for your hardship is not higher tuition fees in the current school. I have heard of cases where students have transferred to schools with higher tuition and the INS has rejected the EAD petition saying the students harship is not the result of unforseen circumstances but rather the result of forseen increase in tuition as the result of school change - especially if the I-20 of the new college says that the students expenses will be met by family funds.

Good luck!

I did transfer but that is not the reason why i am applying for the EAD (based on economic hardship). Basically my reason to apply is, my trekking agency back home is on the verge of potential shutdown due to khaobadis and maobadis deadlock. I would like to graduate in about a year, so I need to work awesomely hard during summer. The terrorism hassle has virtually sapped down any job destination and the overflow of Nepali at a single destination hasn't helped that much either.
Orion, thank you for the advice.
