Hello visitors,
Can anyone answer some of my questions about Canadian immigration? I actually appreciate from those who are now residing in Canada and have knowledge on this matter.

The questions are-

1/ If I were to join a graduate school in Canada, when will I be able to apply for Canadian PR on some 'landed...' criteria?

2/ If I somehow manage my budget for one year and ran out of money for the next year(for 2 yrs. masters program), do I have to stay illegally or I can apply for PR and manage my status?

3/ If my main focus is to get PR and secondary is to go to grad school, what are the suggestions?

4/ Some websites are so confusing and vague, so I was wondering if someone can tell me the cheapest or easy to get enrolled schools there?

and the last one is-
5/ I heard that there are some vocational schools we can attend to stay there and process the PR application, can someone elaborate this please?

Thank you all.

Dear Ghaitey:

Here are the answers to your querries:

first, there is no need to check all different websites regarding Canadian immigration or consult the agencies/lawyers. There is only one site (Govt's) which answers everything you are looking for:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/

Most importantly you should read this guide:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

This guide will clearly tell you that you need to score 75 or more points for 6 factors.

1/ If I were to join a graduate school in Canada, when will I be able to apply for Canadian PR on some 'landed...' criteria?

Ans: If you have never come to Canada to study in the past, you will be able to apply after completing 2 years of full time study in Canada (that gives you 5 points).

2/ If I somehow manage my budget for one year and ran out of money for the next year(for 2 yrs. masters program), do I have to stay illegally or I can apply for PR and manage my status?

Ans: Canada is not US. if you have no legal status in Canada you cannot study. However, you might continue staying in Canada with student visa (Authorization) until you finish your study. Funding is your headache. Under "student authorization" you cannot work outside the institution where you are studying, and when you work on-campus at most you will be earning 8-10 CAN $ per hour subject to the availability of work.

If you have good grades in undergraduate studies, you might get paid while studying graduate level in Canada.

3/ If my main focus is to get PR and secondary is to go to grad school, what are the suggestions?

Try to be PR if possible to score 75. Otherwise plan to support yourself for at least 3 years while studying in Canada in case you might not get assistantshhip for graduate studies... 3 year means, youneed to live in Canada for two years studing full time to earn 5 points, that 5 points plays critical role!!!!!!!!

4/ Some websites are so confusing and vague, so I was wondering if someone can tell me the cheapest or easy to get enrolled schools there?

and the last one is-
5/ I heard that there are some vocational schools we can attend to stay there and process the PR application, can someone elaborate this please?
