Anyon following the Indian deback in the Kiwiland down under?

Here's something worthy from the Indian skipper, who hasn't had much to show so far. I only wish his bat was doing the talking too.

"One thing I need to mention here about the comments made on the TV by Mr. Martin Crowe on captaincy. It is quite natural that when a team loses, the captain will come in for a lot of criticism, but definitely not from one who has won just 2 of his 16 Tests as a captain - a win record of 12 per cent, when compared to someone with a win record of 40 per cent. It also does not suit him to talk about leading from the front when he left the ground after 25 overs in a World Cup semi-final and the team lost the game from a strong position. Luckily, he was born in New Zealand and not India."

- Indian captain Sourav Ganguly reacts on Martin Crowe's comments.

I think Mr. Saurav Ganguly has completely forgotten the '92 world cup where Martin Crowe's absolutely blistering captaincy and batting performance lifted New Zealand to the Semi-Final only to loose against the eventual world champion Pakistan. Only Inzamam's swashbuckling knock could give Pakistan victory from the throat of defeat. It was another good all round performance from New Zealand. The Kiwis, where they are now, is very much influence by their definite no.1 in my opinion, Mr. Martin Crowe.

He was a hell of a captain and equally magnificent batsman. The comment he made is relevant to India's pathetic performance. They should be ashamed with such a loss. They thought it was going to be all easy touring New Zealand given their past performances there, but they too blindfolded themselves from how dangerous Kiwis are at ther home tracks.

I think India seriously needs to learn a lot without being ashamed from this tour. They have one of the best batting line-ups in the world, only I think Australia and probably Pakistan have those gifted and very talented batsmen. What India lacks is the bowling and that too has been stronger with the arrival in the scene from Zaheer Khan, Srinath is back too so that should be an added bonus to the Indian bowling.

I think what India needs is more cricket at the overseas venues like Australia, RSA, NZ, Zim and other fast turning tracks. They have been playing too much cricket at the sub-continent level where the tracks are slow and favourable for spin. Even a bowler like Muralitharan finds trouble gripping perfect line and lenght on fast tracks overseas, what can we expect from Harbhajan Singh?

Mr. Ganguly thus should realize that it is good captaincy that can turn the match on its head. Look at Steven Waugh or for that matter Ranatunga or even Imran Khan. They were good thinking captain that could enhance the team performance and change the match completely when they think it was the right time to do. There are different tactics that includes, changing bowlers at the right time, most bowlers feel comfortable bowling to the batsman they target, give them the opportunity to have a go at them, field positions is all important too, most batsman favor offsides where as others favor legside, keeping fielders at the right place is very important and we have known in recent decade, how important fielding is to win the match.

Saurav Ganguly, I am sorry to say is the worst fielder. If the captain gives 100% on the field diving around and influencing others to do the same thing, then there will be lot of motivation for other fielders. Saurav Ganguly still uses his fancy foot works to stop the ball, what a pathetic thing to do at this level. You are at the professional level and Sauran Ganguly is the captain of that side where Millions and Millions of crazy cricket fans turn in to watch. If he can show all these qualities, it wont be more when India starts producing youngsters who can become the future of Indian cricket. You have to think of the future too. What about 10 years from now when Tendulkar retires, Dravid retires and probably Ganguly himself does that, there will be no more Sachin Tendulkar or Rahul Dravid. Ganguly has to realize how important these players are to produce youngters who can play at the highest pressure when required. He has to think of all these things and not linger around Martin Crowe's comments. He has to believe in himself that he has done a pathetic job and he is going to come back and show the true captaincy quality that he is well capable of producing speciall the World Cup is nearing and the last thing India want is rotating captains and players and disbursing Team Sprit.

Krishnaji,

A girl must be like a blossom
With honey for just one man.
A man must be like honey bee
And gather all he can.
To fly from blossom to blossom
A honey bee must be free,
But blossom must not ever fly
From bee to bee to bee....

Therefore; go for _ _ _ _ _ _ .

Got it? Let me know .
